Forbes Field
Forbes Field was a baseball park in the Oakland (Pittsburgh), Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from 1909 to June 28, 1970. It was the third home of the Pittsburgh Pirates Major League Baseball (MLB) team, and the first home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the city's National Football League (NFL) franchise. The stadium also served as the home American football, football field for the University of Pittsburgh Pittsburgh Panthers football, "Pitt" Panthers from 1909 to 1924. Gene Michael
Eugene Richard Michael (June 2, 1938 – September 7, 2017), known as Stick, was an American professional baseball player, coach, scout, manager and team executive. He played in Major League Baseball as a shortstop from 1966 to 1975, most prominently as a member of the New York Yankees where he anchored the infield for seven seasons in the late 1960s and early ’70s. He also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Detroit Tigers. He was a light hitter but also a quick and smooth defensive player. William Ross Short (November 27, 1937 – February 2, 2022) was an American professional baseball pitcher. During his 15-year pro career, he played all or parts of six seasons in Major League Baseball between 1960 and 1969. A , left-hander, Short was originally signed by the New York Yankees in 1955. He made his major league debut for the Yankees in 1960 and played his final game with the Cincinnati Reds in 1969. Jerry Lynch
Gerald Thomas Lynch (July 17, 1930 – March 31, 2012), nicknamed "The Hat", "Lynch The Pinch" and "The Allison Park Sweeper", was an American professional baseball outfielder who ranked among the most prolific pinch hitters in Major League Baseball (MLB) history. He played 13 seasons (1954-1966) with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds. Lynch was a central figure for the Reds in the 1961 season, which saw them capture their first National League pennant in 21 years.
