The 1966 European Athletics Junior Championships, European Junior Games was the second edition of the biennial athletics (sport), athletics competition for European athletes aged under twenty. It was the first edition to have received official support from the European Athletic Association, following the unofficial first edition in 1964. It was an unofficial competition without sanction from the European Athletic Association. The event was held at the 10th-Anniversary Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, between 18 and 20 September. Dieter Fromm
Dieter Fromm (born 21 April 1948) is a retired East German middle-distance runner who specialized in the 800 metres. He held the indoor 800 m world record for over ten years. His career ended abruptly in 1976 when, in a race ahead of the 1976 Summer Olympics, for which Fromm was qualified, another runner tread on and damaged his achilles tendon. He competed for the sports club SC Turbine Erfurt during his active career. His son Alexander married the Olympic sprinter Uta Rohländer Uta Rohländer, nee Fromm (born 30 June 1969 in Merseburg) is a retired German sprinter who specialised in the 400 metres.
