Alex Hannum
Alexander Murray Hannum (July 19, 1923 – January 18, 2002) was a professional basketball player and coach. Hannum coached two National Basketball Association (NBA) teams and one American Basketball Association (ABA) team to league championships. He had a combined NBA-ABA record of 649–564 (.535) in the regular season and 61–46 (.570) in the playoffs over 16 seasons. In 1998, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach. High school career Hannum prepped at Alexander Hamilton High School (Los Angeles), Hamilton High School in Los Angeles. College career Hannum played at University of Southern California, USC, where he was captain of the Southern California Trojans men's basketball, 1948 team. Nate Thurmond
Nathaniel Thurmond (July 25, 1941 – July 16, 2016) was an American basketball player who spent the majority of his 14-year career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Golden State Warriors franchise. He played the center and power forward positions. Thurmond was a seven-time All-Star and the first player in NBA history to record an official quadruple-double. In 1965, he grabbed 42 rebounds in a game; only Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell recorded more rebounds in an NBA game. Thurmond was named a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1985, one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, and part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. Guy Rodgers
Guy William Rodgers (September 1, 1935 – February 19, 2001) was an American professional basketball player born in Philadelphia. He spent twelve years (1958–1970) in the NBA, and was one of the league's best playmakers in the early to mid-1960s. Rodgers led the NBA in assists twice, and placed second six times. Rodgers was inducted into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014. Basketball career Rodgers attended Northeast High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1954. Paul Neumann (basketball)
Paul R. Neumann (born January 30, 1938) is an American retired basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early career A guard, Neumann attended Newport Harbor High School in Newport Beach, California and played college basketball for Stanford University. NBA career He was selected in the 4th round of the 1959 NBA draft by the Syracuse Nationals. He played two seasons with the Nationals, and remained with the team as it moved to Philadelphia and was renamed the Philadelphia 76ers. In 1965, he was traded at mid-season along with Connie Dierking and Lee Shaffer to the San Francisco Warriors for Wilt Chamberlain, a trade that is frequently cited as an example of a star player (in this case, Chamberlain) being traded for far less than he is worth. He played two more full seasons with the Warriors before retiring in 1967. The 1965–66 NBA season was the 76ers 17th season in the NBA and 3rd season in City Philadelphia. The Sixers would capture the regular season division championship by a game over the Boston Celtics. However, in the Eastern Conference finals, they would lose to the Celtics in five games. After this series, Dolph Schayes was fired as coach and Alex Hannum would take over as the new coach.
