1965–66 Regional Championship
The 1965–66 Regional Championship was the 24th season of the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The champions of Regional Championships play against each other in the playoffs to earn promotion to Divizia C. Liga IV
Liga IV is the fourth level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia D into Liga IV before the start of play for the 2006–07 season. Current format Liga IV has 42 divisions. The divisions are regionalised and are organised by every county association. Each team plays in their own county. The county associations decide how many teams play in the league and how many matches each side plays. In Romania the most frequently used system is one division with matches played home and away. A number of associations prefer 2 or even 4 parallel divisions with the teams finishing first meeting in a play-off to decide the champion. The number of teams differ from one county association to another. The Mureș County association has the fewest teams, 8, which play in a Scottish system, playing 4 times against one another. Dacia Pitești
Dacia (, ; ) was the land inhabited by the Dacians, its core in Transylvania, stretching to the Danube in the south, the Black Sea in the east, and the Tisza in the west. The Carpathian Mountains were located in the middle of Dacia. Liga IV Maramureș is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Maramureș County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 24 teams divided into 2 series, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, Romanian Football Federation, FRF proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. Phoenix Baia Mare
Phoenix Baia Mare was a football club based in Baia Mare, Romania. It was founded in 1932 and dissolved in 2000. The club of the Chemical Factory from Baia Mare, was founded in 1932 and the first leaders were: Petru Wider (Chairman), Şt. Vadász (Sports Director) and Al. Cireşa (General Secretary). History In 1932–1933 the club started in the district championship. In August 1933 the Phoenix Stadium was inaugurated and in the summer of 1934 the team reached the quarter-finals of the Romanian Cup, being eliminated by AMEFA Arad 0–1. It participates at the first edition of the Divizia B (1934–1935) and finishes 1st in the 3rd series with the following team: Ferencz (Szabó) – Ardos, Holzmann – Man, Sava, Kert – Bojtas, I.
