The 1964 United States presidential election in Michigan took place on November 3, 1964, as part of the 1964 United States presidential election. Voters chose 21 representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president. Michigan was won by incumbent President Lyndon B. Alcona County ( ) is a county of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 10,167. Its county seat is Harrisville. Eric Hass
Eric Hass (March 4, 1905 – October 2, 1980) was a four-time Socialist Labor candidate for President of the United States. Life Hass was of German and Danish ancestry, and was born in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1905. He died of a heart attack in Community Hospital, Santa Rosa, California on October 2, 1980. State elections In 1942, he ran for New York State Attorney General. In 1944, he ran for U.S. Senator from New York. In 1950, 1958 and 1962, he ran for Governor of New York. Presidential elections In 1952, his running mate was Stephen Emery; in 1956 and 1960, Georgia Cozzini; and in 1964, Henning A. Blomen. He came in third place in 1964. Clifton DeBerry (September 18, 1923 – March 24, 2006) was an American communist and two-time candidate for President of the United States of the Socialist Workers Party. He was the first black American in the 20th century to be chosen by a political party as its nominee for president. The county was founded in 1840 and organized in 1875. Etymology Otsego may be a Native American name meaning "place of the rock". Barry County is a county in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 62,423. The county seat is Hastings. History Before the present era, the Michigan peninsula was long occupied by bands of the Potowatomi and Ojibwe of the Lake Superior Band of Chippewa Indians.
