This edition, held in Stade d'Honneur (Meknes), Stade d'Honneur in Meknes was contested by four teams, two from Europe, one from South America and one from the host country, all of them being the reigning champions of their respective leagues. Argentine side Boca Juniors was the winner after beating AS Saint-Étienne, Saint-Étienne and Real Madrid CF, Real Madrid in the final.

Lucien Muller-Schmidt (born 3 September 1934) is a French former football player and manager who played as a midfielder. He was part of France at FIFA World Cup 1966 but did not play any match. Career Born in Bischwiller, Muller started out in Alsace, his native region, and then made a name for himself with the Stade de Reims, with whom he was twice crowned French champion. He then moved to Real Madrid, with whom he played in the European Cup final in 1964 and won the league three times. He later moved to FC Barcelona. Although he was touted as the successor to Raymond Kopa, his performances in the blaugrana shirt never matched his club performances. Ignacio Zoco Esparza (31 July 1939 – 28 September 2015) was a Spanish footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He spent 12 years of his professional career with Real Madrid, appearing in more than 400 official matches and winning ten major titles. José Emilio Santamaría Iglesias (born 31 July 1929) is a retired football central defender and manager. He spent his 18-year career with Nacional and Real Madrid, winning a combined 17 titles including four European Cups with the latter club. Born in Uruguay, Santamaría represented both the Uruguay and Spain national teams. He later embarked in a managerial career, which included a two-year spell managing Spain. Isidro Sánchez (footballer, Born 1936)
Isidro Sánchez García-Figueras (17 December 1936 – 2 September 2013) was a Spanish footballer who played as a right-back. Club career During his 15-year professional career, Barcelona-born Sánchez played for three clubs. He started out in 1956 at Real Betis, scoring a career-best five goals – in only 15 matches – in his fourth season and helping the Andalusians to the sixth place in La Liga, while playing as a midfielder. In 1961, Sánchez joined fellow top-tier team Real Madrid, being an important defensive unit as they won four consecutive league titles, including the double in his first year. After only one game in the 1964–65 campaign, aged 28, he returned to his native region and signed for CE Sabadell FC, where he would remain until his retirement in June 1971. Norberto "Beto" Menéndez (14 December 1936 – 26 May 1994) was an Argentine footballer striker. He was born in 1936 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Antonio Ubaldo Rattín (born May 16, 1937) is a former Argentine football player, best known as a Boca Juniors midfielder, and because of an incident in a match at the 1966 FIFA World Cup.
