1964 Lafayette Leopards Football Team
The 1964 Lafayette Leopards football team was an American football team that represented Lafayette College during the 1964 NCAA College Division football season. Lafayette tied for last place in both the Middle Atlantic Conference, University Division, and the Middle Three Conference. In their second year under head coach Kenneth Bunn, the Leopards compiled an 0–7–2 record. Douglas Dill and George Hossenlopp were the team captains. At 0–4–2 against MAC University Division foes, Lafayette was one of three teams without a win in conference play, along with Hofstra, playing its first year in the division, and Lehigh, both of which finished 0–3–1. Lafayette went 0–1–1 against the Middle Three, losing to Rutgers and tying Lehigh. Lafayette played its home games at Fisher Field on College Hill in Easton, Pennsylvania. Kenneth Bunn
Kenneth B. Bunn Jr. (1928 – March 12, 2009) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Juniata College from 1956 to 1962 and at Lafayette College from 1963 to 1966. Bunn played college football at Pennsylvania State University, where he lettered in 1949 and 1950. ''The Morning Call'' is a daily newspaper in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1883, it is the second longest continuously published newspaper in the Lehigh Valley, after ''The Express-Times''. In 2020, the newspaper permanently closed its Allentown headquarters after allegedly failing to pay four months of rent and citing diminishing advertising revenues. The ''Central New Jersey Home News Tribune'' is a Daily newspaper serving Middlesex County, New Jersey. The paper has an average daily weekday circulation of about 49,000. The newspaper is the result of the 1995 merger of ''The Home News'' of East Brunswick (founded 1879) and ''The News Tribune'' of Woodbridge Township. The News Tribune was previously known as "The Perth Amboy Evening News." The combined paper, initially renamed the ''Home News & Tribune'' before the ampersand was removed, was sold to Gannett in 1997. In 2009, some production operations were moved and consolidated with those of Central Jersey Gannett newspapers. Those operations are now located in Neptune. Piscataway () is a township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. It is a suburb of the New York metropolitan area, in the Raritan Valley. At the 2010 United States Census, the population was 56,044, an increase of 5,562 (+11.0%) from 50,482 at the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 3,393 (+7.2%) from 47,089 in 1990. The 1964 Gettysburg Bullets football team was an American football team that represented Gettysburg College during the 1964 NCAA College Division football season. The team was the champion of the Middle Atlantic Conference, University Division. Background During their eighth year under head coach Eugene M. Haas, the Bullets compiled a 7–2 record. Ken Snyder and Mark Snyder were the team captains. Following an upset win against top-ranked Delaware, its third in a row, Gettysburg entered the UPI small college coaches poll, ranked No. 10 in the nation. The team moved up and down in the rankings until the end of the season, and was also considered a top contender for the Lambert Cup. A season-ending loss to Temple ruined its hopes of an undefeated conference record, however, and dropped Gettysburg out of the national top twenty. Christy Mathewson–Memorial Stadium is a 13,100-seat multi-purpose stadium at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Originally built in 1924, the stadium was renovated and renamed in honor of Mathewson in 1989. It is home to the Bucknell Bison football team from the Patriot League and the Lewisburg Area High School Green Dragons football team. It is named for Christy Mathewson, a Bucknell alumnus who went on to become a Hall of Fame pitcher for the New York Giants in the early 20th century.
