Yosef "Bomba" Tzur (né Yosef Welzer; 26 December 1928 in Haifa – 21 March 1979 in Herzliya) was an Israeli theatre and film actor, screenwriter, producer, and comedian. Peter Frye
Peter Frye (1914-1991; born Peter Friedman) was a Canadian actor, screenwriter and film director. Frye, who was Jewish, was born on March 1, 1914, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Frye, who spoke fluent English, French, German, Hebrew and Spanish, fought in the Spanish Civil War from 1937 to 1938 as a member of the XV International Brigade and was wounded in action. He emigrated to Israel in the 1950s and became a drama professor at the University of Tel Aviv, and also worked as a stage director, actor, screenwriter and film director. He moved to the United Kingdom in the 1970s. Frye co-wrote the screenplay for the 1954 Israel war film ''Hill 24 Doesn't Answer'' ('' he, גבעה 24 אינה עונה; ''), the first feature film produced in Israel. Arieh Elias ( he, אריה אליאס. 1 April 1921 – 7 May 2015) was an Israeli actor. Biography Arieh Elias was born in Baghdad. In 1941, he was the first Jew to be accepted to the drama faculty of Baghdad's Academy of Fine Arts. Elias immigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1947. He joined the Palmach and fought in the War of Independence. At first he had trouble finding work as an actor due to his pronounced Arabic accent, but his popularity grew after playing the lead in the Israeli film ''HaYeled Me'ever LaRechov'' (The Boy Across The Street) in 1965. Acting and film career In the early 1960s, he directed the theater troupe of the Frank Sinatra Center in Nazareth, staging Jean d'Arc, Nasser Aladdin and Majnun Night for El-Hadit Theater. Yosef "Yossi" Banai ( he, יֹוסֶף "יֹוסִי" בַנָאי; April 13, 1932 – May 11, 2006) was an Israeli performer, singer, actor, and dramatist. Biography Banai was born in Jerusalem during the Mandate era, and grew up in the neighborhood of the Mahane Yehuda market. He was one of the more prominent members of a family celebrated for producing several famous performers and musicians: his brothers Gavri, Ya'akov and Haim are actors, his son Yuval and nephews Ehud, Uri, Me'ir and Eviatar are musicians and singers (some of whom occasionally act), and his niece Orna is an actress and comedian. Banai was one of the first members of the IDF's famous troupe of performers, the Nahal troupe.
