The 1961–62 season was the 89th season of competitive Association football, football in Scotland and the 65th season of the Scottish Football League. Scottish League Division One Dundee had an excellent start to the season, including a 5–1 win away to Rangers, and having a seemingly invincible lead by Christmas. A poor run of form in the new year, including a run of three successive defeats, allowed Rangers to move to the top of the table. Rangers themselves lost to Dundee United and Aberdeen in the closing weeks, allowing Dundee to take the title with a 3–0 win at St Johnstone on the last day of the season. The Fife Cup is a Scottish regional football competition for clubs in the historic county of Fife. The competition was founded by the Fifeshire Football Association in 1882. The competition was originally known as the "Fifeshire Cup" from 1882–1896 and the "Fife and District Cup" between 1896 and 1900. The East of Scotland Shield is a Scottish football trophy awarded by the East of Scotland Football Association. The only older cup competition in Scottish football is the Scottish Cup. The tournament is the third-oldest in world football still competed for annually, after the FA Cup and the Scottish Cup. The Ayrshire Cup was an annual association football regional competition in Scotland. The cup competition was a knockout tournament between football clubs in the historic county of Ayrshire. The Ayrshire Cup was first held in 1877–78, the trophy being a solid silver vase, 30 inches high, and valued at £100, designed by Messrs John Cameron & Son. The first winners were Mauchline. The competition was most recently held in the 1997–98 season, when it was won by Kilmarnock. Deveronvale Football Club are a senior association football club currently playing the in Scotland. They were founded in 1938 and play their football at the Princess Royal Park, Banff, Princess Royal Park in the town of Banff, Aberdeenshire, Banff, (formerly Banffshire, now officially Aberdeenshire), Scotland. Eyemouth is a town and civil parish in Berwickshire, in the Scottish Borders area of Scotland. It is east of the main north–south A1 road and north of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
