195th Infantry Regiment (United States)
The 195th Infantry Regiment was a regiment of the United States Army, part of the New Hampshire Army National Guard. History The 195th Infantry Regiment was organized in 1947 and 1948, with the regimental coat of arms being approved on 30 October 1953. The regiment perpetuated the lineage of the 941st Field Artillery Battalion and the 774th Tank Destroyer Battalion that served on the Western Front of World War II, and the previous 172nd Field Artillery Regiment of the New Hampshire National Guard. The 941st had been formed from a battalion of the federalized 172nd Field Artillery Regiment while the 774th incorporated Battery H of the 172nd. The regiment was broken up on 1 December 1954 when the New Hampshire Army National Guard was restructured, eliminating its infantry units in favor of artillery. Officer Candidate School
An officer candidate school (OCS) is a military school which trains civilians and Enlisted rank, enlisted personnel in order for them to gain a Commission (document), commission as Commissioned officer, officers in the armed forces of a country. How OCS is run differs between countries and services. Typically, officer candidates have already attained post-secondary education, and sometimes a bachelor's degree, and undergo a short duration of training (not more than a year) which focuses primarily on military skills and leadership. This is in contrast with a military academy which includes academic instruction leading to a bachelor's degree. Pembroke, New Hampshire
Pembroke is a town in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 7,207 at the 2020 census. Pembroke includes part of the village of Suncook. The center of population of New Hampshire is close to the Pembroke town center. History First granted in 1728, the town was known as "Lovewell's Town", in honor of Captain John Lovewell, who built the stockade at Ossipee. Center Strafford is an unincorporated community in the town of Strafford, New Hampshire. It is one of the two principal settlements in the town, along with Bow Lake Village. The village is located at the intersection of New Hampshire Route 126 and Route 202A. Route 126 connects Center Strafford with Barnstead to the northwest and Barrington to the southeast. Regiment
A regiment is a military unit. Its role and size varies markedly, depending on the country, service and/or a specialisation.
