1959 Nigerian General Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Nigeria on 12 December 1959. The result was a victory for the Northern People's Congress, which won 134 of the 312 seats in the House of Representatives, despite the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons and Action Group receiving more votes. The Niger Delta Congress (NDC) is a socio-political organization of the ethnic nationalities of the Niger Delta region. Ronald Wraith
Ronald Edwards Wraith (born 1908, date of death unknown) was a British scholar on public and colonial administration. Northern Elements Progressive Union
The Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU) was the first political party in Northern Nigeria. Northern People's Congress (NPC) is a political party in Nigeria. Formed in June 1949, the party held considerable influence in the Northern Region from the 1950s until the military coup of 1966.
