1959 German Football Championship Final
The 1959 German football championship Final decided the winner of the 1959 German football championship, the 49th edition of the German football championship, a knockout Association football, football cup competition contested by the regional league winners to determine the national champions. The match was played on 28 June 1959 at the Olympiastadion (Berlin), Olympiastadion in Berlin. Eintracht Frankfurt won the match 5–3 after Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time against Kickers Offenbach for their 1st German title. With the win, Eintracht Frankfurt qualified for the 1959–60 European Cup, where they went on to reach the 1960 European Cup Final, final. Eckehard Feigenspan
Eckehard Feigenspan (born 13 May 1935) is a former German footballer who has been twice capped for Germany's B squad. German championship 1959 The 19-year-old striker Feigenspan moved in 1954 from FC Nieder-Wöllstadt to VfB Friedberg in the first amateur league of Hessen. After only one season, he received an offer from Eintracht Frankfurt and eventually signed in 1955 at the ''Eagles'' for their Oberliga South campaign. At match day two, he debuted at the 5–3 away win at Stuttgarter Kickers. Together with Erich Bäumler, Hans Weilbächer, Richard Kress and Alfred Pfaff he formed the attack at Eintracht. In his first season 1955–56 he could appear in 13 matches, netting five goals. In his fourth season at Frankfurt, 1958–59, Paul Oßwald's Eintracht won the Southern German championship, hence reached the final round of the German championship and then the final match. István Sztáni
István Sztáni (; born 19 March 1937) is a Hungarian football manager and a former player who played as a forward. Sztani left Hungary for Eintracht Frankfurt and faced a one-year FIFA ban. With the Main siders he won the German championship in 1959. At the end of the season he moved to Standard Liège of Belgium and stayed there until 1965 when he returned to Frankfurt. In his second stint he amounted 21 Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht. In the 1975–76 season, Sztáni was manager at VfB Stuttgart in the 2. SC Westfalia Herne is a German football club based in Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club was founded on 13 June 1904 by the sons of the more well-heeled residents of the city as a rival to the worker-based club SV Sodingen. History After World War I and occupation of the Ruhr by the French in 1923, the club was dissolved, but still carried on unofficially. It was reconstituted in 1925 through fusion with ''Fortuna Herne'' to play as ''Westfalia Fortuna Herne''.
