Raquel Rastenni
Raquel Rastenni (21 August 1915 – 17 August 1998), born Anna Rachel Rastén, was a popular Danish-Russian singer. She was born in Copenhagen, and grew up in an apartment in the poor part of the city. Her Jewish parents immigrated to Denmark from Russia at the start of the 20th century. Her father was a tailor, and her mother was a seamstress. She started her career as a dancer in the Helsingør Revue in 1936. She debuted as a singer in 1938 by being broadcast on radio. She sang with various orchestras through the early 1940s and in 1940 formed her own swing trio. That same year her first record was released. She also toured during these years in Sweden. As a Jew, she fled Denmark in October 1943 along with her family, as the country had come under Nazi occupation. She spent the rest of the war years in Sweden where she continued having great success with her career, performing with orchestras and in cabarets and varieties. Eurovision Song Contest 1958
The Eurovision Song Contest 1958 was the third edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (NTS), the contest, originally known as the (English: Grand Prix of the Eurovision Song Contest 1958) was held on Wednesday 12 March 1958 at the AVRO Studios in Hilversum, the Netherlands and hosted by Dutch television presenter Hannie Lips. This marked the first time that the contest was hosted in the country of the preceding year's winner, a tradition that has been continued ever since (with some exceptions). Ten countries participated, equalling the number which took part the previous year; made its first appearance in the contest, while the decided not to participate. Benedikte Hansen
Benedikte Hansen (born 24 September 1958) is a Danish actress, best known to international audiences for her role as Hanne Holm in the television series ''Borgen''. Hansen is the daughter of Dr Flemming Hansen (died 2003) and his wife Aase Riegels Borch. She trained as an actress at Denmark's Statens Teaterskole, and has appeared on stage at the Royal Danish Theatre, Copenhagen. From 1983 to 1993, she was married to actor and director Gerz Feigenberg; the marriage ended in divorce. She subsequently married Laws Michael Christiansen; that marriage also ended in divorce. She subsequently had a relationship with actor Viggo Sommer, which ended amicably in 2017. Following their break-up, Sommer said that the main problem was that "Benner", as he called Hansen, was living in Copenhagen while he was living in Aarhus. In 2013, she played her first major English-language screen role when she appeared as the Baroness in a new BBC adaptation of ''The Lady Vanishes''.
