Alain Calmat
Alain Calmat, (born 31 August 1940) is a French former competitive figure skater, surgeon, and politician. He is the 1964 Olympic silver medalist, the 1965 World champion, the 1962–1964 European champion, and the 1958 & 1962–1965 French national champion. Career Calmat attended the Cours Hattemer, a private school. He started skating at the age of nine. He won the silver medal at the French Figure Skating Championships in 1954 and would go on to win twelve medals at nationals before retiring: seven silver and five gold. He placed 9th at the 1956 Winter Olympics and won the bronze medal at the 1958 European Championships. At the 1960 Winter Olympics, he moved up to sixth place and won the bronze medal at the 1960 World Championships. The following year, Calmat won the silver medal at the 1961 European Championships. Igor Persiantsev
Igor Georgiyevich Persiantsev (russian: Игорь Георгиевич Персианцев; 16 February 1937 – 23 December 2015) was a Russian figure skater who represented the Soviet Union. He was the 1955 Soviet national champion and a member of the first Soviet teams to the European and World Figure Skating Championships. Life and career Persiantsev began skating in 1949 at DYUSSH Sokolniki. In 1954, he stepped onto the Soviet national podium for the first time, taking the bronze medal. In 1955, Persiantsev won the national title ahead of Oleg Simantovsky and Lev Mikhailov. The following season, he was a member of the first Soviet team to compete at a European Figure Skating Championship – the 1956 Europeans in Paris – and had the highest placement, 12th, of the three Soviets in men's singles. Jaromír Holan
Jaromír Holan (born 14 May 1941 in Prague) is a Czech former ice dancer who represented Czechoslovakia. Competing in partnership with Jitka Babická, he won bronze at the 1966 European Championships in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. By 1968, Holan had teamed up with Dana Novotná. Hans-Jürgen Bäumler (born 28 January 1942) is a German former pair skater, actor, and Schlager singer. Career Bäumler became famous in pair skating with his skating partner Marika Kilius. Between 1958 and 1964, they won the German nationals four times, became European champion six times, and world champion in pair skating twice. Their coach was Erich Zeller. The duo won a silver medal at the 1960 Olympic Winter Games, and Bäumler became one of the youngest male figure skating Olympic medalists. In 1964, they won a silver medal again. Manfred Schnelldorfer (born 2 May 1943) is a German former figure skater. He is the 1964 Olympic champion, the 1964 World champion, and an eight-time German national champion. Personal life Manfred Schnelldorfer was born on 2 May 1943 in Munich, Bavaria, the son of two figure skating coaches. His father had skated in an ice revue but saw its milieu as a harmful influence. Manfred Schnelldorfer studied architecture at TH-München but put his studies on hold for financial reasons. A resident of Munich, he is married and has two children.
