1957–58 Federation Cup
The 1957–58 Federation Cup was the second season of the Turkish Federation Cup. The winner of the competition would represent Turkey at the 1958–59 European Cup. It was also the last edition of the Federation Cup, for the next season would be the Turkish First Football League. 38 clubs participated: 20 from Istanbul, 10 from İzmir, and 8 from Ankara. Beşiktaş won the title for the second time. The Turkish Federation Cup ( tr, Federasyon Kupası) was the first professional national football league in Turkey and the predecessor to the Super League. It was organized by the Turkish Football Federation and was held in order to bring forth a national champion that would represent Turkey in the European Cup. It was held in 1956 and 1957. Vefa S
Vefa is part of the district of Fatih in Istanbul, and lies inside what was once the old walled city of Constantinople. It lies roughly northwest of the eastern section of the Aqueduct of Valens, and is rich in monuments, both Byzantine and Ottoman. It takes its name from the Muslim saint (wali) Shaykh Ebu’l Vefa who is buried locally in his own mosque and dergah. Vefa lies to the east of busy Atatürk Bulvari, the main road pushed through the old city by the French architect Henri Prost in the 1950s. Immediately to its north is the rundown area of Küçükpazarı while to the east is the Süleymaniye district around the huge Süleymaniye Mosque complex. Buses plough up and down Atatürk Bulvari linking Vefa to Taksim, Eminönü, Fatih and Beyazıt. Galata S
Galata is the former name of the Karaköy neighbourhood in Istanbul, which is located at the northern shore of the Golden Horn. The district is connected to the historic Fatih district by several bridges that cross the Golden Horn, most notably the Galata Bridge. The medieval citadel of Galata was a colony of the Republic of Genoa between 1273 and 1453. The famous Galata Tower was built by the Genoese in 1348 at the northernmost and highest point of the citadel. Galata is now a quarter within the district of Beyoğlu in Istanbul. Beykoz (), also known as Beicos and Beikos, is a district in Istanbul, Turkey at the northern end of the Bosphorus on the Anatolian side. The name is believed to be a combination of the words bey and ''kos'', which means "village" in Farsi. Beykoz includes an area from the streams of Küçüksu and Göksu (just before Anadoluhisarı) to the opening of the Bosphorus into the Black Sea, and the villages in the hinterland as far as the Riva creek. İstanbulspor is a Turkish football and sports club founded by Istanbul High School students in 1926. In 2004–05 they were relegated from the Turkish Süper Lig (Super League) to TFF 1. Lig.
