The Auckland rugby league team is the team which traditionally represents all of the clubs which play in the Auckland Rugby League competition. As well as a senior men's team there are also Auckland representative teams throughout the various age groups such as under 15s, under 17s, under 19s and under 21s. Under the new zone scheme introduced in 2010 the Auckland team represents the North Shore, East Auckland and West Auckland, while South Auckland is represented by the Counties Manukau rugby league team. The zone team is named the Akarana Falcons. Trevor Kilkelly is a New Zealand former rugby league footballer who represented New Zealand in the 1960 World Cup. Playing career Kilkelly grew up on the West Coast playing for the Brunner club. He was named as the West Coast's reserve hooker when only 17 years old. Kilkelly later moved to join the Sydenham club in the Canterbury Rugby League competition and made his representative debut for Canterbury in 1952 and his South Island debut in 1953. That year he was also an unused reserve for New Zealand but it would not be until 1955 when he made his debut for New Zealand, playing on the tour of Great Britain and France. Neville Leon Denton (22 July 1934 – 27 March 2015) was a New Zealand rugby league player who represented New Zealand in the 1954 and 1960 World Cup. Patrick Joseph Creedy (18 November 1927 – 7 April 2011) was a New Zealand rugby football player who represented New Zealand in rugby league. Playing career Creedy originally played rugby union and represented both the Southland Rugby Union and the Canterbury Rugby Union. John Rutherford "Jock" Butterfield (18 January 1932 – 14 February 2004) was a New Zealand rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He was named amongst the finest that New Zealand produced during the 20th century. A New Zealand international representative forward, he played his club football in various places in New Zealand, New South Wales and Queensland.
