1954–55 Baltimore Bullets Season
The 1954–55 NBA season was the Bullets' 8th season in the NBA and eleventh and final overall season of existence. The franchise ceased operations after playing 14 total games with a 3-11 record on November 27, 1954. NBA's official record books for the 1954-55 season do not include the Bullets' games and team statistics, nor do they include the statistics of opposing players and teams in games played against the Bullets. Baltimore would go without an NBA team until 1963, when the Chicago Zephyrs moved to Baltimore and became the second incarnation of the Baltimore Bullets. Baltimore Coliseum
Baltimore Coliseum was an indoor arena in Baltimore, Maryland. It hosted the NBA's original Baltimore Bullets from 1944 until 1954. Prior to that it hosted roller skating events. The Coliseum was built in 1938 on the corner of Monroe Street and Windsor Avenue near the Pennsylvania Avenue entertainment area and held 4,500 people. As a professional sports venue, it had been superseded by the Baltimore Civic Center CFG Bank Arena (originally the Baltimore Civic Center and formerly Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore Arena and 1st Mariner Arena) is a multipurpose arena in Baltimore, Maryland. WCBM
WCBM (680 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Baltimore, Maryland. It is owned by WCBM Maryland, Inc., and broadcasts a talk radio format, calling itself "Talk Radio 680 WCBM." The radio studios and offices are on York Road in Lutherville, off the Baltimore Beltway ( Interstate 695). By day, WCBM transmits 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM stations; but to protect other stations on 680 AM, at night it reduces power to 20,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times, with a six-tower array. The transmitter is off Marriottsville Road in Randallstown. The 1954–55 NBA season was the ninth season of the National Basketball Association. The season ended with the Syracuse Nationals winning the NBA Championship, beating the Fort Wayne Pistons 4 games to 3 in the NBA Finals.
