Ligue Magnus
The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. Format 12 teams play a 44-game regular season. The schedule is fully balanced and there are no geographic conferences. Regulation wins are worth 3 points, as per international rules. The top 8 teams qualify for the Magnus Cup playoffs, with all series contested in a best-of-seven format. The remaining 4 teams play a 6-game round-robin, at the end of which the last-place team is relegated. The Magnus Cup champions qualify for the following season's Champions Hockey League. Gap Hockey Club
Rapaces de Gap (french: Les Rapaces de Gap) is a French ice hockey team that is based in Gap and plays home games at the Patinoire Brown-Ferrand. Athletic Club De Boulogne-Billancourt (ice Hockey)
AC Boulogne-Billancourt is an ice hockey team in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. ACBB currently plays in the FFHG Division 3, the fourth level of French ice hockey. They are a member of the Athletic Club de Boulogne-Billancourt association. The hockey section was created in 1952. History ACBB enjoyed success in the Ligue Magnus (then known as the 1re série) in the 1950s and 1960s, winning three league titles and finishing as runner-up seven times. They also won the Spengler Cup three years in a row from 1959 to 1961. The club forfeited the entire 1971-72 season after playing in only one game. ACBB has participated solely in the lower-level French leagues since then. The Boucs de Megève (official name: Club des Sports de Megève) are an ice hockey team in Megève, France. History The club was founded by Jean Motte in 1923, but wasn't officially registered until July 17, 1931. Starting in the 1950s, the team regularly participated in the top-level French league.
