Wolfgang Schmidt (athlete)
Wolfgang Schmidt (born 16 January 1954) is a German former track and field athlete who competed for East Germany at the 1976 Summer Olympics and won the silver medal in the discus throw. A former world record holder, he also won several medals at the European Athletics Championships. Schmidt made headlines in 1982 due to his failed attempt to escape from East Germany. He later competed for the Federal Republic of Germany and won third place in the 1990 European Athletics Championships. Born in Berlin, he competed for the SC Dynamo Berlin / Sportvereinigung (SV) Dynamo. Sibylle Lewitscharoff (born 16 April 1954) is a German author. Among her novels are ''Pong'' (1998), ''Apostoloff'' (2009) and ''Blumenberg'' (2011). She has received several German literary awards, including the Georg Büchner Prize in 2013. Arnold Stadler (born 1954) is a German writer, essayist and translator. Life He was born on 9 April 1954 in Meßkirch in the district of Sigmaringen in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. Stadler grew up on a farm in Rast, a small village adjoining Sauldorf, a neighboring village of his birthplace Meßkirch. Stadler studied catholic theology in Munich and Rome, German philology at Freiburg im Breisgau and Köln, ending with a doctoral degree (Dr. phil.). The first serious and prominent recommendation regarding his works came 1994 of Martin Walser (Der Spiegel No. 31 from 1 August 1994). Dieter Müller
Dieter Müller (né Kaster; 1 April 1954) is a German former professional footballer who played as a forward. He achieved his greatest success playing for 1. FC Köln in the Bundesliga in the late 1970s. Müller scored 177 goals in 303 games in the German league, including six goals in one game in August 1977, a record that still stands. He also played 12 times for West Germany from 1976 to 1978, scoring nine goals. Career Müller played and scored in the UEFA Euro 1976 final, which West Germany lost on penalties to Czechoslovakia. He was again in the national team in the 1978 FIFA World Cup, though the campaign ended in disappointment when West Germany, the defending champions, did not qualify for the tournament's final. Udo Di Fabio (born 26 March 1954, in Duisburg) is a German jurist. He is a former judge of the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany, Germany's highest court, where he served as a member of the Second Senate from December 1999 until December 2011. Biography In 1970 Di Fabio began as a local government official in middle service in Dinslaken. He completed his secondary school diploma and then studied law at the Ruhr University in Bochum as well as social sciences at the University of Duisburg (now University of Duisburg-Essen). Harald Anton "Toni" Schumacher (born 6 March 1954) is a German former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. At club level, he won a Bundesliga title and three DFB-Pokal titles with 1.
