Frank Sedgman and Doris Hart were the defending champions, but Sedgman was ineligible to compete after turning professional. Rita Bentley (16 July 1931 - 26 October 2016), Rita Lauder after marriage, was a British tennis player of the 1950s and 1960s. Jacques "Jacky" Brichant (28 March 1930 – 9 March 2011) was a Belgian tennis player. He was ranked world No. 9 for 1957. Brichant was a clay court specialist and won many clay court tournaments in Europe. Brichant has played the most Davis Cup ties for his country. Johann Friedrich Kupferburger (10 February 1933 – December 1988) was a South African tennis player who was active in the 1950s. Tennis career Kupferburger won the 1951 Wimbledon Boys' Singles title by beating the Egyptian player, Kamel Moubarek in the final.
