1951 Cupa României
The 1951 Cupa României is the 14th edition of Romania's most prestigious Association football, football Single-elimination tournament, cup competition. The title was won by FC Steaua București, CCA București against CS Gaz Metan Mediaș, Flacăra Mediaş. Format The competition is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout tournament. In the first round proper, two pots were made, first pot with Divizia A teams and other teams till 16 and the second pot with the rest of teams qualified in this phase. First pot teams will play Road (sports), away. Each tie is played as a single leg. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in Overtime (sports), extra time, and if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, the team who plays Road (sports), away will qualify. Fotbal Club FCSB (), formerly named and still sometimes referred to as FC Steaua București, is a Romanian professional Association football, football club based in Bucharest. It has spent its entire history in the Liga I, the top flight of the Romanian football league system. The original ''Steaua București'' football team was founded in 1947 and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence (Romania), Ministry of National Defence, through the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club. FCM Câmpina was a Romanian football (soccer), football team from Poiana Câmpina, Prahova County founded in 1936 and dissolved in 2008. History The team was founded under the name ''Astra Câmpina'', which was a local factory that was sponsoring the team. Later the team changed its name to ''Poiana Câmpina''. Even though the team is now called FCM Câmpina (Municipal Football Club Câmpina), most of its fans still call the team "Poiana" or "Poieniţa", a diminutive. Furthermore, FCM Câmpina used to be, for a couple of years, FC Dinamo București, Dinamo Bucharest's second team, and was back then called Dinamo Poiana Câmpina. Gloria CFR Galați was a football club based in Galaţi, Galați County, Romania. It was founded in 1932 and dissolved in 1970. History The club was founded in 1932 January 1, at the initiative of the railroad workers from Galați, after the merger of ''Șoimii Gloria'' (founded in 1927) with ''CFR''. The initial colours of the jersey's were yellow-blue. The club's initial name was ''Asociația Sportivă și Culturală'' (Cultural and Sports Association). Until 1936 the team plays in the districtual championship after which it promotes to the Divizia C.
