The 1950–51 1re série season was the 30th season of the 1re série, the top level of ice hockey in France. Five teams participated in the league, and Racing Club de France won their second championship. Ligue Magnus
The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus. Format 12 teams play a 44-game regular season. The schedule is fully balanced and there are no geographic conferences. Regulation wins are worth 3 points, as per international rules. The top 8 teams qualify for the Magnus Cup playoffs, with all series contested in a best-of-seven format. The remaining 4 teams play a 6-game round-robin, at the end of which the last-place team is relegated. The Magnus Cup champions qualify for the following season's Champions Hockey League. The French Fourth Republic (french: Quatrième république française) was the Republicanism, republican government of France from 27 October 1946 to 4 October 1958, governed by the fourth republican constitution. Racing Club de France was an ice hockey team in Paris, France. They were a member of the Racing Club de France sports association. History The club first participated in the 1re série during the 1931-32 season. They lost to Stade Français in the final, 3–2 in overtime. The following season, Racing Club was again defeated by Stade Français in the final, this time by a score of 1–0. Chamonix Hockey Club was a French professional ice hockey team based in Chamonix that last played in the Ligue Magnus in 2015. The team is also known as "Chamois de Chamonix" (Chamonix Chamois). With 30 championship titles, Chamonix was the most successful French club in ice hockey. The team was founded in 1910. In 2010, the club celebrated its 100th birthday.
