A year or annus is the orbital period of a planetary body, for example, the Earth, moving in its orbit around the Sun. Due to the Earth's axial tilt, the course of a year sees the passing of the seasons, marked by change in weather, the hours of daylight, and, consequently, vegetation and soil fertility. In temperate and subpolar regions around the planet, four seasons are generally recognized: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Francisca Herrera Garrido
Francisca Herrera Garrido (1869 – 4 November 1950) was a Galician writer of poems and novels. Biography Born in La Coruña to a wealthy Galician aristocratic family, she lived in Madrid during most of her life. Though she wrote primarily in Galician, she also wrote in Spanish. A contemporary of Sofía Casanova, it was Rosalía de Castro who served as Herrera Garrido's literary model. Conservative and antifeminist,Pérez (1988), p. 22 Herrera Garrido was "one of the first women to publish narrative in Galician". Pere Tarrés I Claret
Pere Tarrés i Claret (30 May 1905 – 31 August 1950) was a Catholic doctor from Barcelona, who became a priest. Claret served as a doctor during the Spanish Civil War, and administered to the poor and to those who suffered from tuberculosis; he also co-established a clinic for those who could not afford adequate medical treatment. He received beatification from Pope John Paul II in Loreto on 5 September 2004. Carmen Baroja Nessi (1883, Pamplona – 4 June 1950, Madrid) was a Spanish writer and ethnologist who wrote under the pseudonym ''Vera Alzate''. She was the sister of the writers Ricardo Baroja and Pío Baroja, and mother of the anthropologist Julio Caro Baroja and film director Pío Caro Baroja. Early life Baroja was the youngest child of Serafin Baroja, a Basque writer and poet who made his living as a mining engineer, and Carmen Nessi y Goñia, a woman of Basque and Italian descent. At the time of her birth, her father was editing ''Bai, Juana, Bai'', the first (Basque- Castilian) bilingual periodical to be published in Pamplona. When it closed down after six issues, her father went back to his profession as a mining engineer and took the family to Burjassot near València, Cestona in Guipúzcoa, and San Sebastián.
