1950 In Soviet Football
The 1950 Soviet football championship was the 18th seasons of competitive football in the Soviet Union and the 12th among teams of sports societies and factories. CDKA Moscow won the championship becoming the Soviet domestic champions for the fourth time and continuing the post-war feud against Dinamo. The championship went through second rebranding and since 1950 the First Group was named as Class A and the Second Group was named as Class B. The defending champions Dinamo lost eight games this season allowing their main rivals CDKA to retake the title. Nikita Simonyan
Nikita Pavlovich Simonyan ( hy, Նիկիտա Մկրտիչ Սիմոնյան, born ''Mkrtych Pogosovich Simonyan'', 12 October 1926) is a former Soviet football striker and coach of Armenian descent. He was born in Armavir. As of 2021 he was the Russian football functionary First Vice-President of the Russian Football Union. Simonyan was awarded the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR title in 1954, the Honored Coach of Russia title in 1968, the Merited Coach of the USSR title in 1970 and the Commander of the Order "For Services to the Fatherland" award in 2011. Simonyan is the top scorer in the history of the club Spartak Moscow at 160 goals. Club career Simonyan was a player for FC Dinamo Sukhumi during his youth career. After sixteen years of living in Sokhumi, Simonyan moved to Moscow, where he joined the local club FC Krylya Sovetov Moscow, also known as the "Wings of the Soviets". SC Rotor Volgograd (russian: СK Ротор) is a Russian professional football club from the large city of Volgograd, Volgograd Oblast (formerly Stalingrad). The club will play in the third-tier Russian Football National League 2 in the 2022–23 season. FC Lokomotyv Kharkiv ( uk, Локомотив Харків) was a football club from Kharkiv. History The club entered official Soviet competitions in 1936 Soviet Cup as Lokomotiv Kharkov. It was formed out of the team Krasnyi Zheleznodorozhnik (Red Rail Worker) that existed in Kharkiv since 1923. In league competitions the team appeared in 1938 playing in the first group of the Ukrainian SSR championship and replacing "Stalinets" team that represented electric-mechanical factory. After the World War II, in 1945 the team was admitted to the Soviet second tier competitions known as "Vtoraya Gruppa" (Second Group) along with two other teams from the Ukrainian SSR, Kharchovyk Odesa (today Chornomorets) and Shakhtar Stalino.
