1950 Divizia B
The 1950 Divizia B was the 11th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format with two series has been maintained, but each of them having 12 teams instead of 14. At the end of the season the winners of the series promoted to Divizia A and the last two places from each one of the series relegated to District Championship. Also this was the first season played in the spring-autumn system, a system imposed by the new leadership of the country which were in close ties with the Soviet Union. Liga II
The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete. The first six teams from each series participate in a play-off for potential promotion to Liga I. Grivița () is a district of Bucharest, Romania, centered on the Grivița Railway Yards (''Atelierele CFR Grivița''), which were and still are an important landmark within the manufacturing landscape of the city. CFR Turnu Severin is a football club based in Turnu Severin (now Drobeta-Turnu Severin), Romania. It was founded in 1928 and it won one Romanian Cup in 1943. The club was dissolved in 1958. History The railroad workers team from the Danube port of Porţile de Fier was founded in 1928, under president I. Tipărescu. The first antebellum appearance is recorded in 1939–40 (9th place in the Liga II). FC Ploieşti was a football club based in Ploieşti, Romania. It was founded in 1922 and dissolved in 1949. History In 1922, in Ploieşti, Tricolor club was formed, some of the founding members being: Gheorghiu, Jan Vasopol, Elly Roman the composer (the first president) and N. Stambolgiu. Dermata Cluj was a football club from Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, dissolved in 1967. History The shoes factory from Cluj-Napoca called Echo Cluj created the team and was the main sponsor of the team until 1948. Notable players from that time was Darock, Bagoly, Kallo, Kiss, Toth. Ferencz Ronay was the first big manager who create a competitive team, and played for the first time in Divizia A, the Romanian First Football League.
