Middle Three Conference
The Middle Three Conference was an College athletics, intercollegiate athletic scheduling alliance from 1929 to 1969. It had three members throughout its 41-year existence: Lafayette College and Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, and Rutgers University in New Jersey. Administratively, the "conference" was little more than a three-way rivalry; there was no league commissioner or central office for scheduling or enforcement. Lafayette, Lehigh and Rutgers competed for a Middle Three championship in several sports, including College baseball, baseball, College basketball, men's basketball and College football, football. Andy Kerr Stadium
Crown Field at Andy Kerr Stadium is a 10,221-seat multi-purpose stadium in Hamilton, New York, United States. It is the home of Colgate University's football and men's lacrosse teams. Colgate opened the stadium in 1939, originally as Colgate Athletic Field. Colgate's football teams – then known as the Red Raiders and competing at the highest level of NCAA play – were coached during the stadium's inaugural year by Andy Kerr, who led the team from 1929 to 1946. The stadium adopted the name Andy Kerr Stadium on "Andy Kerr Day" on September 17, 1966, before a crowd of 8,000. The 87-year-old former coach was on hand to greet well-wishers and witness a 34-0 Colgate football victory over Boston University. 1949 Fordham Rams Football Team
The 1949 Fordham Rams football team represented Fordham University as an independent during the 1949 college football season. The Army Cadets hosted Vince Lombardi's former team, the Fordham Rams at Michie Stadium. One of the members of the Rams was Vince's brother, Joe Lombardi, who transferred to the school after Lombardi left. Tim Cohane, writer of '' Look'' magazine was a Fordham alumnus, and a friend of Army coach Earl Blaik. He pressured both teams to play each other. Cohane felt the game would help Fordham rise to national prominence. Herb Seidell, the Fordham captain, lost a tooth in the game. Several fights ensued and the media named the match, the Donnybrook on the Hudson. There were multiple penalties for unnecessary roughness. Fisher Stadium is a 13,132-seat multi-purpose stadium in Easton, Pennsylvania. The stadium is home to the Lafayette College Leopards football team. It opened in 1926 as Fisher Field. Palmer Stadium
Palmer Stadium was a stadium in Princeton, New Jersey, United States. It hosted the Princeton University Tigers football team, as well as the track and field team. The stadium held 45,750 people at its peak and was opened in 1914 with a game against Dartmouth. It closed in 1996 with a game against Dartmouth. Princeton Stadium was built on the site (albeit pushed slightly further north) in 1997. The building was named for Stephen S. Palmer, a trustee of the university, by his son, Edgar Palmer III. Like Harvard Stadium, it was horseshoe-shaped (which was modeled after the Greek Olympic Stadium), but was wider, including a full-sized track (around the football field) .
