1948 Norwegian Football Cup
The 1948 Norwegian Football Cup was the 43rd season of the Norwegian annual knockout football tournament. The tournament was open for all members of NFF, except those from Northern Norway. The final was played at Marienlyst Stadion in Drammen on 16 October 1932, and was a replay of the 1935 final with five-time former winners Fredrikstad, and three-time former winners Sarpsborg. Unlike the 1935-final, the final was won Sarpsborg, with a 1-0 margin, which secured their fourth title. Skeid were the defending champions, but were eliminated by Kvik (Trondheim) in the fourth round. The eight district champions in the 1947–48 League of Norway (Sparta, Mjøndalen, Viking, Freidig, Storm, Kapp, Brann and Kristiansund) got a walkover in the first round, and the four semi-finalists in the playoffs (Sparta, Mjøndalen, Viking and Freidig) got a walkover in the second round. Football Association Of Norway
The Norwegian Football Federation ( nb, Norges Fotballforbund, nn, Noregs Fotballforbund; NFF) is the governing body of football in Norway. It was formed in 1902 and organises the men's and women's national teams, as well as the league systems for men and women (whose top levels are respectively the Eliteserien and Toppserien). The current president of NFF is Lise Klaveness. By 1 January 2004, there were 1,814 clubs organized in Norway and 373,532 registered players. It is the largest sports federation in Norway. The NFF joined FIFA in 1908, and UEFA in 1954. The NFF was part of an unsuccessful joint bid with the SvFF, the DBU and the SPL to host the UEFA Euro 2008 championship. Idrettsklubben Start (or simply IK Start, translates to The sports club Start ) is a Norwegian football club from the city of Kristiansand that currently plays in the 1. divisjon, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system. The club was founded on 19 September 1905. The club's current head coach is Sindre Tjelmeland. Egersunds Idrettsklubb, commonly known as Egersund or EIK, is a Norwegian sports club from Egersund in Rogaland. The club has sections for football, handball and athletics, and is most known for its football team, which plays in the 2. divisjon, the third tier of the Norwegian football league system. Drammens Ballklubb is a Norwegian multi-sports club from Øren in Drammen. Founded 14 August 1909 as a merger of clubs ''Idun'' and ''Spring'', the club was initially a football club only. It has currently sections for association football, cross-country skiing, bandy and Esports. The club had athletes in ski jumping, but that department is folded. Ski- og Ballklubben Drafn is a Norwegian multi-sports club from Drammen, founded in 1910. The club, which takes its name from the Norse name of Drammen, was founded as a merger of the clubs Ulf (founded 1905) and Njord (founded 1906). Fotballklubben Donn is a Norwegian football club from the neighbourhood Lund in Kristiansand, most notable for its women's football team. It was founded on 24 June 1909 and named after a dog. Donn Toppfotball The women's football team Donn Toppfotball played in Toppserien, the highest tier of women's football in Norway, for two periods. Kristiansund Fotballklubb is a Norwegian association football club from Kristiansund, Møre og Romsdal. The men's football team currently plays in the Fourth Division, the fifth tier of the Norwegian football league system.
