1946 Copa Escobar-Gerona
The 1946 Copa Escobar-Gerona, also named Copa de Confraternidad Rioplatense, was the 4th (and last) edition of this cup competition organised jointly by the Argentine and Uruguayan football associations. The 1946 edition of the cup was the only edition out of the four editions in which the title was awarded to one club, rather than the two of the previous year or the none of 1941 and 1942. Juan Alberto "Pepe" Schiaffino Villano (; 28 July 1925 – 13 November 2002) was an Italian-Uruguayan football player who played as an attacking midfielder or forward. A highly skilful and creative playmaker, at club level, he played for CA Peñarol in Uruguay, and for A.C. Milan, and Roma in Italy. Mario Fortunato
Mario Francisco Fortunato (1904 – 10 January 1970) was an Argentine football player and manager. Fortunato won three championships as a player with Boca Juniors and went on to lead the club to four Primera División and twp domestic cups as manager. Playing career Club Fortunato began playing for Boca Juniors in 1925, he made his debut on 1 September in a 2–0 win against Palermo. He played for the club until 1926, winning three titles in those years: Copa de Competencia Jockey Club (1925), Primera División (1926) and Copa Estímulo (also in 1926). In 1927 he joined Huracán where he played until 1929. He returned to Boca and played 3 more games for the club in September and October 1929. Juan Carlos "Toto" Lorenzo (; 27 October 1922 – 14 November 2001) was an Argentine football player and coach. He became an icon for Boca Juniors fans after he coached the club to its first two Copa Libertadores titles. Biography In his teens, Lorenzo played for Chacarita Juniors, and made his professional debut in 1940. He was transferred to Boca Juniors in 1945, and after two years he joined Italian side Sampdoria team, where he remained until 1952. His next clubs would be now-defunct French F.C. Jaime Sarlanga (February 24, 1916 – August 24, 1966) was an Argentine football forward. He played most of his career for Boca Juniors where he won 7 titles and scored 115 league goals, making him the 5th. highest goalscorer in club's history.
