In the late 19th-century, female mechanics were uncommon enough for her to be famed as such, and she was quite possibly the first professional female mechanic in her country. Elsa Lindberg-Dovlette
Elsa Cecilia Maria Lindberg-Dovlette (13 February 1874 – 8 October 1944) was a Swedish people, Swedish writer and Qajar Iran, Persian princess, known for her stories from a harem, an environment little understood in Europe at the time. Born in Stockholm to Finnish parents, she married a Persian prince in 1902 and moved into a harem, initially in Constantinople and later in Monaco. She wrote about harem life informed by her own experience, particularly that of being a European in an Asian culture. Her stories covered the complexity of harem life in the Ottoman Empire in the period before the World War I, First World War when traditional beliefs and practices were being challenged by new ideas. The books proved popular and were translated into Dutch, Finnish, French and German. Emil Fjellström
Emil Fjellström (24 October 1884 – 14 July 1944) was a Swedish stage and film actor. Early life and stage career Emil Fjellström was born in Näs parish, Östersund Municipality, Jämtland County and grew up in the city of Östersund. After finishing school, he briefly worked at the post office before joining a local theater revue. He then decided to pursue theater acting as a professional career and debuted at Anton Salmson's Operetta Theatre in 1906. He would travel extensively through the country in various touring theater companies throughout the early 1900s and 1910s and enjoy a measure of popularity in the provinces. Film career Fjellström would make his film debut in the 1917 Gustaf Molander-penned, Mauritz Stiller-directed comedy ''Thomas Graals bästa film'' starring Victor Sjöström and Karin Molander, and appear in over 50 films between 1917 and his death in 1944. Erling Wicklund
Erling Sachs Wicklund (7 June 1944 – 8 August 2019) was a Norwegian jazz trombonist, composer, arranger and journalist, known for a series of jazz programs on NRK. Career Wicklund was born in Göteborg, Sweden, and studied musicology, art history and English at the University of Oslo, composition and arranging at "Dick Grove School of Music" in Los Angeles, and trombone at Musikkonservatoriet in Oslo. From the 1960s he played in "Veitvet Musikkskoles storband", "Universitetet i Oslos Storband", Filharmonisk Selskaps Orkester, orchestras at Chat Noir, Det Norske Teatret, Oslo Nye Teater, Nationaltheatret, "Thorleif Østerengs storband", "Radiostorbandet" as well as at Club 7, bands led by Arild Wikstrøm and Earl Wilson's "Band No Name". This is a list of Swedish kings, queens, regents and viceroys of the Kalmar Union. History The earliest record of what is generally considered to be a Swedish king appears in Tacitus' work '' Germania'', c. 100 AD (the king of the Suiones). However, due to scant and unreliable sources before the 11th century, lists of succession traditionally start in the 10th century with king Olof Skötkonung, and his father Eric the Victorious, who also were the first Swedish kings to be baptized. There are, however, lists of Swedish pagan monarchs with far older dates, but in many cases these kings appear in sources of disputed historical reliability. These records notably deal with the legendary House of Yngling, and based on the Danish chronicler Saxo Grammaticus, Eric the Victorious and Olof Skötkonung have often been classified as belonging to the Swedish house of Ynglings, tracing them back to Sigurd Hring and Ragnar Lodbrok (whom Saxo considered to belong to the House of Yngling). Jan Oskar Sverre Lucien Henri Guillou (, ; born 17 January 1944) is a French-Swedish author and journalist. Guillou's fame in Sweden was established during his time as an investigative journalist, most notably in 1973 when he and co-reporter Peter Bratt exposed a secret and illegal intelligence organization in Sweden, '' Informationsbyrån'' (IB). He is still active within journalism as a column writer for the Swedish evening tabloid ''Aftonbladet''. Among his books are a series of spy fiction novels about a spy named Carl Hamilton, and a trilogy(+) of historical fiction novels about a Knight Templar, Arn Magnusson. He is the owner of one of the largest publishing companies in Sweden, Piratförlaget (''Pirate Publishing''), together with his wife, publisher Ann-Marie Skarp, and Liza Marklund. Skirmish At Sövde
The skirmish at Sövde was an aerial incident in 1944 where a German Messerschmitt Me 410 and an American Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress accidentally flew into Swedish airspace. After several warning shots, the incident evolved into a short-lived confrontation around Sövde between the Swedish air defence and the German and American planes. Background The German confrontation Upon entering Swedish airspace near Simrishamn, a Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Me 410 faced numerous warning shots by Swedish anti-aircraft artillery, although the German plane would ignore the shots making the Swedes declare ''luftfara'' (air hazard) at 11:52. A Swedish motor brigade observed the Messerschmitt's movements closely; this is when the German plane started firing at the Swedes who returned fire. The German plane crashed shortly thereafter due to the Swedish anti-aircraft fire, killing both of the German crew as well as the Swedish conscript Nils Holmberg who was hit by the aircraft as it crashed.ht ...
