Verdinaso
Verdinaso (''Verbond van Dietsche Nationaal-Solidaristen'', ), sometimes rendered as Dinaso, was a small authoritarian and fascist political party active in Belgium and, to a lesser extent, the Netherlands between 1931 to 1941. Verdinaso was founded by Joris Van Severen, Jef François, Wies Moens, and Emiel Thiers on 6 October 1931 at a meeting in the Hôtel Richelieu in Ghent. It emerged from the Flemish Movement although, under Van Severen's leadership, it moved towards a novel authoritarian political ideology which he referred to as National Solidarism. The organisation had initially called for the reunification of Flanders with the Netherlands in a Greater Netherlands (''Dietschland'') but discarded this ideal in 1934 in favour of a wider corporatist ideology calling for the establishment of a federated authoritarian polity on the model of the Burgundian Netherlands which would incorporate the whole of Belgium and possibly Luxembourg. Countess Alix de Lannoy (''née'' Alix della Faille de Leverghem; 20 September 1941 – 26 August 2012) was a Belgian noblewoman and the mother of Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie of Luxembourg. Biography Alix was a daughter of Baron Harold della Faille de Leverghem, a member of an Antwerp family ennobled in 1614,Enache, Nicolas. ''La Descendance de Marie-Therese de Habsburg''. She was living at the Lannoys' ancestral Château de Hun in Anvaing, where she was the honorary librarian of the municipal library. Nicole Van Goethem (31 May 1941 - 3 March 2000) was a Belgian animator and illustrator. She wrote and directed ''A Greek Tragedy'', winner of the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1987. Biography Van Goethem was born in 1941 in Antwerp. She studied applied arts at the Sint Maria Instituut in Antwerp, Western concert flute at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and evening courses at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the same city. Until about the age of 30, she lived and worked in the Antwerp nightlife, but decided to quit and started working as a graphic designer and illustrator for advertising agencies and magazines. Andreas De Leenheer (16 May 1941 – 20 November 2022) was a Belgian academic and biologist. He was Vice-Rector of Ghent University from 1997 to 2001 and Rector from 2001 to 2005. Biography In 1971, De Leenheer became a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Ghent University. In 1977, he became a full professor and headed the laboratories department at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences from 1984 to 1993. He was dean of the Faculty from 1984 to 1992. From 1992 to 1998, he was chair of the Department of Bioanalysis. From 1997 to 2001, he was Vice-Rector before serving as Rector from 2001 to 2005. During his tenure, he led the movement for the renovation of the Boekentoren, convincing the university board to provide funds for the project in 2005.
