Clyde Wesley "Cac" Hubbard (September 13, 1896 – October 30, 1980) was an American football, basketball, and baseball coach and college athletics administrator. Hubbard served as the head football coach at the College of Puget Sound—now known as the University of Puget Sound—from 1926 to 1928 and at the University of Denver from 1939 to 1941 and again from 1944 to 1947, compiling a career college football coaching record of 45–35–10. Hubbard was the head basketball coach at Denver from 1932 to 1940 and the school's baseball coach in 1948. He served as the athletic director at Denver from 1941 to 1948 and at the University of Montana from 1949 to 1952. 1940 Utah Utes Football Team
The 1940 Utah Redskins football team, also commonly known as the Utah Utes, was an American football team that represented the University of Utah as a member of the Mountain States Conference (MSC) during the 1940 college football season. In their 16th season under head coach Ike Armstrong, the Redskins compiled an overall record of 7–2 record with mark of 5–1 in conference play, won the MSC title, and outscored all opponents by a total of 169 to 87. Rex Geary was the team captain. Four Utah players received recognition on the 1940 All-Mountain States football team: end Carlos Soffe; tackle Floyd Spendlove; guard Rex Geary; and halfback Izzy Spector. Honolulu Stadium
Honolulu Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium located in the Moiliili district of Honolulu, Hawai'i, at the corner of King and Isenberg Streets. Opened in 1926, it was the primary sports venue in Hawaii preceding Aloha Stadium. During its final years, the stadium could hold about 25,000 fans; it was demolished in 1976. A public park, Old Stadium Park, now occupies the location. A plaque at the corner of King and Isenberg commemorates the stadium.
