1939 Cork Senior Football Championship
The 1939 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 51st staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 7 February 1939. St. Nicholas' entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Beara in the semi-final. On 12 November 1939, Clonakilty won the championship following a 0–07 to 0–05 defeat of Beara in the final at Skibbereen Town Park. This was their first championship title. UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. Dromtarriffe GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the north-west of County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated to the Duhallow division of Cork GAA. Their hurling team currently competes in the Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship and their football team currently competes in the Cork Intermediate A Football Championship. The club has historically been concerned with the game of Gaelic football, but also fields teams in hurling competitions. Dromtarriffe (or Dromtarriff or Dromtariffe) is a small townland, as well as being the name of the parish in the same area. Dohenys is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, fielding Gaelic football and Hurling teams in the town of Dunmanway, County Cork, Ireland. It won its only Cork Senior Club Football Championship in 1897. Aghabullogue GAA are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Cork, Ireland. They are affiliated to the Cork County Board and play in the mid-Cork (Muskerry) division of Cork GAA. Aghabullogue cater for both hurling and Gaelic football. History Aghabullogue have a long tradition of hurling. In 1890, they won the Cork Senior Hurling Championship. By the rules of the GAA at that time, this victory allowed Aghabullogue to go on and represent Cork in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship. They later collected a Munster title following a victory over Kerry. There was controversy in the subsequent All-Ireland final when an Aghabullogue men left the field after one of the players had his toe broken by a Wexford man's hurley. Kilmurry GAA is a Gaelic football club based in the village and parish of Kilmurry, Cork, Ireland. The club plays in the division of Muskerry of Cork GAA .
