George Malley (American Football)
George Leo Malley (February 10, 1903 – August 14, 1979) was an American football coach. He served as the head coach of the San Francisco Dons at the University of San Francisco from 1937 to 1940. Before that, he had success as a high school football coach at St. Ignatius High School from 1929 to 1935. Biography Malley, whose grandfather was an Irish immigrant, was born in Arizona and attended Santa Clara University, where he played college football. He served as the team captain in the early 1920s. Malley earned a Bachelor of Philosophy and a Bachelor of Laws. Gonzaga Stadium
Gonzaga Stadium was an outdoor sports stadium in the northwest United States, located on the campus of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. The home of Gonzaga Bulldogs football, it was built in five months and opened in 1922; the first game was against Washington State on October 14, won by the Cougars with a late field goal, 10–7. After the opening loss, Gonzaga was undefeated in the next ten games at the stadium, with eight wins and two ties. The football field had a conventional north-south alignment at an elevation of approximately above sea level. Lights were installed in 1931, between the field and the running track. Like many colleges, football was stopped at Gonzaga during World War II and the last season was in 1941. Ratcliffe Stadium is a collegiate athletic venue in the western United States, located on the campus of Fresno City College in Fresno, California. Opened in 1926, it was renamed in 1941 after their first football coach, Emory Ratcliffe.
