The 1937–38 Estonian Football Championship was the 17th official football league season in Estonia. Eight teams took part in the league six from Tallinn, one from Pärnu and Narva. JS Estonia Tallinn was an Estonian football club based in Tallinn Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, Tallinn has a population of 437,811 (as of 2022) and administratively lies in the Harju '' .... It was founded in November 1930. The board included many ex-footballers and then active players that played for the team, such as Eduard Ellmann-Eelma and Arnold Pihlak. History The club played its first two seasons in Estonian First Division. After the successful promotion in 1932, they played in Estonian Top Division and only lost the title in the last game of the season to Sport Tallinn. But then they won five consecutive league titles from 1934 to 1938/39. They were unbeaten for the first two seasons in that run and even extended it until the middle of the third. VS Sport Tallinn
SK Tallinna Sport is a defunct Estonian football club, founded in 1912 and then re-established in 2003. The club won nine domestic league titles before Estonia became a part of Soviet Union. The club also played bandy in the interwar years, becoming Estonian champions of this sport eleven times in the 1920s and 1930s. At last the club played in the III Liiga (Pőhi), northern zone of Estonian Third league, fourth tier of Estonian football pyramid. The club finished 1st in 2007 and was dissolved after the beginning of the year 2008. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Nikolai Linberg ( Latvian: Nikolajs Lindbergs; 3 April 1915 – unknown) was a Latvian-Estonian footballer. He was born in Tallinn. In 1934, he received his Estonian citizenship. Arnold Laasner
Arnold Laasner (27 June 1906 – 29 January 1964) was an Estonian footballer. He was born in Tallinn. He began his football career at the age of 14 in Nõmme. In 1925 he joined with the club SK Tallinna Sport. He became the Estonian champion in 1925, 1929 and 1931–33. He won the silver medal in 1926, 1927, 1930, 1934, 1936 and 1943, and won the bronze medal in 1939. In 1932, he scored the most goals (fourteen) in Meistriliiga and scored 54 goals in the championship during his career. He also played ice hockey, volleyball and especially basketball, winning a silver medal for the Estonian championships in 1927. He played also one match for Estonia men's national basketball team. At the end of World War II, he fled to Germany. Later, he moved to United Kingdom. Heinrich Uukkivi
Heinrich Uukkivi (10 May 1912 – 12 April 1943) was an Estonian association football, bandy and ice hockey player. He won the Estonian Football Championship five times, the Estonian Bandy Championship three times and the Estonian Ice Hockey Championship twice. Internationally, Uukkivi made 46 appearances for the Estonia national football team since his debut in 1931, and scored 7 goals. He won the 1931 and the 1938 Baltic Cup with the team. He also made three appearances for the Estonia national bandy team and three appearances for the Estonia men's national ice hockey team. In 1940, after Soviet occupation, Uukkivi was forcibly drafted into the Soviet Army and subsequently captured by the invading German forces. Later, he was released by the Soviet Army and sentenced to a prison camp, where he died.
