Elmer Holm
Elmer W. Holm (January 14, 1906 – October 8, 1992) was an American football player and coach of football and basketball. He was the 21st head football coach at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, serving for six seasons, from 1936 to 1941, and compiling a record of 23–31–3. Holm was also the head basketball coach at Washburn from 1933 to 1936, tallying a mark of 21–36. Drake Stadium (Drake University)
Drake Stadium is a stadium on the campus of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. Best known as the home of the Drake Relays, it also serves as the home field of the university's football team. It opened in 1925. The Washburn Ichabods football team is the football team of Washburn University, located in the American city of opeka, Kansas The team competes as a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) at the NCAA Division II level. World War I Memorial Stadium
World War I Memorial Stadium (previously Memorial Stadium) is a stadium in Manhattan, Kansas, United States. From its opening in 1922 until 1967 it was the home field of the Kansas State Wildcats football team, prior to the opening of Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium. It was also used by Kansas State University for track and field. Stadium history The stadium was built and named in tribute to Kansas State students who died in World War I. The west stands were built in 1922, and the stands on the east side of the stadium were completed two years later. Its general seating capacity was 17,500 people when completed, although attendance sometimes exceeded 20,000. The stadium was built at the location of Ahearn Field, and as late as 1938 the field was still known as Ahearn Field at Memorial Stadium. The team's head football coach was Wesley Fry, in his third year at the helm of the Wildcats. The Wildcats played their home games at Memorial Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas.
