Mal Stevens
Marvin Allen "Mal" Stevens (April 14, 1900 – December 6, 1979) was an American football player, coach, naval officer, and orthopedic surgeon. He served as the head football coach at Yale University from 1928 to 1932 and at New York University from 1934 to 1941, compiling a career college football record of 54–45–10. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1974. Early life, playing career, and education Born in Stockton, Kansas, Stevens attended Washburn College for three years before transferring to Yale College. He lettered in three sports at Washburn and played halfback on Yale's undefeated 1923 football team. He graduated from Yale in 1925 and was a member of Skull and Bones. He graduated from Yale Medical School in 1929. 1937 North Carolina Tar Heels Football Team
The 1937 North Carolina Tar Heels football team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 1937 college football season. NYU Violets Football Seasons
New York University (NYU) is a private research university in New York City. Chartered in 1831 by the New York State Legislature, NYU was founded by a group of New Yorkers led by then-Secretary of the Treasury Albert Gallatin. The 1937 Fordham Rams football team represented Fordham University during the 1937 college football season. Once again, the Rams' offense dominated with over 100 points scored in the first two games. The defense held every opponent to seven points or less per game, and recorded five shutouts, including top-ranked Pittsburgh and No. 19 ranked North Carolina. The Rams' went undefeated with a record and were third in the final AP rankings, only giving up 16 points all season. For the third consecutive year, Fordham and Pitt played to a scoreless tie. Ohio Field (Bronx)
Ohio Field is the main outdoor athletic facility at Bronx Community College in the University Heights neighborhood of The Bronx in New York City. The field consists of a baseball diamond and large, natural grass outfield, surrounded by a 200-meter running track. Bronx Community College's athletics teams use the field for baseball and men's soccer. Early in the 20th century, Ohio Field was the main outdoor athletic venue for New York University, which occupied the University Heights campus until 1973. It was the home of the NYU Violets baseball and football teams dating back at least to 1901. It was also used for soccer and track and field competitions.
