Erin's Own GAA (Waterford)
Erin's Own GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Waterford City, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club enters teams in both GAA codes each year, which includes two adult hurling teams and two adult Gaelic football team in the Waterford County Championships. The club has won the County Waterford Senior Hurling Championship, Senior Hurling Championship a total of 13 times making it the second most successful club in the county. The club has also achieved 8 championships in a row between 1927 and 1935. The current president is Billy Kelly. This is a lifelong position within the club once appointed. It is the oldest club in Waterford, Waterford City and is third on the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship roll of honour (13 - including one 9 in-a-row). Tallow GAA
Tallow GAA ( ga, CLG Tulach an Iarainn) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Tallow, in west County Waterford, Ireland. The club has won the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship four times, first in 1936 and more recently in 1980, 1984 and 1985. Tallow presently have four players on the Waterford county panel, James Murray, Aidan Kearney, Mark O' Brien and Thomas Ryan. Tallow GAA's ground is called Páirc Eamonn de Paor after the former Waterford hurler & coach, Ned Power who taught in the local school through the 1960s, 1970s & 1980s. Ned played for and coached countless Tallow teams in both hurling & football. He was widely regarded as one of the finest and most forward-thinking coach in GAA history, with many accolades and titles associated with his name. Waterford Senior Hurling Championship
The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland. The series of games are played during the spring, summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Walsh Park in October. Initially played as a knock-out competition, the championship currently features a group stage followed by a knock-out stage. The Waterford County Championship is an integral part of the wider Munster Senior Club Hurling Championship. The winners of the Waterford county final join the champions of the other hurling counties to contest the provincial championship.
