Seefeld In Tirol
Seefeld in Tirol is an old farming village, now a major tourist resort, in Innsbruck-Land District in the Austrian state of Tyrol (state), Tyrol with a local population of 3,312 (as of 1 January 2013). The village is located about northwest of Innsbruck on a plateau between the Wetterstein mountains and the Karwendel on a historic road from Mittenwald to Innsbruck that has been important since the Middle Ages. It was first mentioned in 1022 and since the 14th century has been a pilgrimage church, pilgrimage site, benefiting not only from the visit of numerous pilgrims but also from its stacking rights as a trading station between Augsburg and the Republic of Venice, Venice. Also since the 14th century, Tyrolean shale oil has been extracted in the area. Maribel Vinson
Maribel Yerxa Vinson-Owen (née Vinson; October 12, 1911 – February 15, 1961) was an American figure skater and coach. She competed in the disciplines of ladies' singles and pair skating. As a single skater, she was the 1932 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time World medalist (1928 silver, 1930 bronze), the 1937 North American champion, and a nine-time U.S. national champion. As a pair skater, she was the 1935 North American champion and four-time national champion with George Hill. She also won two national titles with Thornton Coolidge. She was the first female sportswriter at The New York Times, and continued competing and winning medals while working as a full-time reporter. Liselotte Landbeck
Liselotte Landbeck (13 January 1916 – 15 February 2013) was an Austrian athlete who competed at a high level in both figure skating and speed skating in the 1930s. In figure skating, she won the bronze medal at the 1934 World Championships. In speed skating, Landbeck competed at the first ever international long track speed skating competition for women during the 1932 European Speed Skating Championships in Davos on 9–10 January 1932. She won this competition against Dutchwomen Elly Taconis by setting a new world record in the 500m as well as the world record in the 1000 m. Landbeck won the next season the first unofficial 1933 World Allround Speed Skating Championships for Women. Although she originally was from Vienna, in 1935, she married the Belgian figure skater Robert Verdun and moved to that country. Erwin Keller (8 April 1905 – 31 July 1971) was a field hockey player from Germany, who won the silver medal for his native country at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin.
