1931–32 Panhellenic Championship
The 1931–32 Panhellenic Championship was the 4th season of the highest football league of Greece. Aris won their 2nd championship. On the other hand, AEK Athens, Olympiacos and PAOK qualified for the relegation play-offs for the Athenian, Piraeus' and Macedonian Association, respectively. AEK and Olympiacos prevailed in the play-off matches and remained in the national division. On the contrary, PAOK did not take part in the play-off matches against Megas Alexandros, which were scheduled for September 18 and 22, 1932, protesting against the decision of the HFF, which was issued on July 22, 1932, while PAOK had ended his league games, canceling his 3–2 win over Iraklis on June 5, 1932, following the objection of Iraklis for the referee that kept only 1 minute stoppage time due to entrance of the club's men on the pitch and the police intervention to restore order. Panhellenic Championship
The Super League Greece 1 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λιγκ 1), or Super League 1, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced ''Alpha Ethniki'' at the top of the Greek football league system. It consists of 14 teams and runs from August to May, with teams playing 26 games. As of May 2022, Super League Greece is ranked 15th in the UEFA coefficient, UEFA ranking of leagues, based on performances in European competitions over the last five years. Since the foundation of the first official Panhellenic Championship in 1927, only six clubs have won the title. The current champions are Olympiacos F.C., Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. Piraeus Football Clubs Association
The Piraeus Football Clubs Association ( el, Ένωση Ποδοσφαιρικών Σωματείων Πειραιώς, abbreviated E.P.S.P. (Ε.Π.Σ.Π.) was founded in 1925 after the termination of E.P.S. Athens-Piraeus. It was the second largest football association in Greece and was officially recognized by FIFA alongside E.P.S. Athens, as the Hellenic Football Federation had not been established at the time. After the establishment of Alpha Ethniki it became the Piraeus Football Clubs Association for amateurs. Giannis Vazos
Giannis Vazos ( el, Γιάννης Βάζος; 1914 – 6 November 1991) was a Greek international football player who played as a forward. Early life He was born into a relatively wealthy family due to his father, Zacharías, being a trader and ran a Butcher shop. However, during pregnancy, his mother, Stélla, contracted an illness that endangered the life of both her and young Giannis. During his birth, Giannis developed a Neurological disorder in his legs. This led to the slight, but obvious peculiarity whenever Giannis would run, with the fans believing that his “stronger” right foot was shorter than his left. Giannis was the middle of 7 siblings. The older ones being Evangelía, Georgia and Vasilis and the younger ones being Stélio, Chrístos, Katína. Vasilios Andrianopoulos
Vasilios Andrianopoulos ( el, Βασίλειος Ανδριανόπουλος; 1908 – 1989) was a Greek footballer. He was Giannis Andrianopoulos' brother. Andrianopoulos started his career with Peiraikos Syndesmos FC and continued with the Athletic and Football Club of Piraeus, Olympiakos Omilos and Olympiacos F.C., as each of his prior clubs were absorbed into the next. He scored 92 goals in 161 official and unofficial matches for the club. Nikolaos Aggelakis
Nikolaos Angelakis ( el, Νικόλαος Αγγελάκης; 15 May 1905 – 29 October 1986) was a Greek footballer who played as a forward and a later manager. Career Angelakis played for Aris and was a member of the 1932 side that won the Greek championship. That year, he was top-scorer of the Greek League with 15 goals (tied with teammate Nikos Kitsos). He passed his whole career as a footballer of Aris, and is the top scorer with 14 goals in the matches against PAOK, the biggest "rivals" of Aris from the city. During his career, Angelakis was capped 11 times by the Greece national football team and scored two goals, his debut coming in 1929. Angelakis was the first of three generations of the Aggelakis family to be on the staff of Aris. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues.
