192nd Infantry Brigade (United States)
The 192nd Infantry Brigade is an inactive infantry brigade of the United States Army. It was first formed as part of the United States Army Reserve's 96th Division. As part of the triangularization of the US Army before World War II, the Brigade was inactivated and the assets & personnel formed the 96th Reconnaissance Troop. World War II The unit served as the 96th Recon Troop. It served as the "eyes & ears" of the 96th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater during World War II. *Activated: 15 August 1942. *Overseas: 23 July 1944. *Campaigns: Ryukyus, Southern Philippines. *Returned to U. The 47th Infantry Regiment is an infantry regiment of the United States Army. Constituted in 1917 at Camp Syracuse, New York, the regiment fought in the Great War, and was later inactivated in 1921. Reactivated in 1940, the regiment fought during World War II in North Africa, Sicily, and Western Europe, then was inactivated in 1946. The 46th Infantry Regiment ("The Professionals") is a unit in the United States Army that served in World War II and Vietnam. History During World War II, the 46th Infantry Regiment was assigned to the 5th Armored Division. Landing at Normandy in 1944, the 46th Infantry led the 5th Armored Division in five campaigns earning the nickname "Victory’s Spearpoint". The 54th Infantry Regiment (periodically also known as the 54th Armored Infantry Regiment) is a United States Army Regimental System parent regiment of the United States Army, first constituted for World War I. 194th Armored Brigade
The 194th Armored Brigade is a separate brigade of the US Army. All armor, cavalry, and armor and cavalry mechanic soldiers, and Marines in equivalent specialties, are trained by the 194th under the armor component of the Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, Georgia, where the 194th has been garrisoned since 2012.
