1928 In Argentine Football
1928 in Argentine football saw the Primera División league expanded to include 36 teams. They played in a single league with each team playing the other only once. Huracán won its 4th. title in Primera. Primera División El Porvenir and Argentino de Banfield returned to the top division after their runs on Primera B while Liberal Argentino and Porteño were relegated. Club Atlético Huracán () is an Argentine sports club from the Parque Patricios neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. The club is notable for its football team, that currently plays in the Primera División, the top level of the Argentine football league system. Its home stadium is the Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó. Huracán was founded on 1 November 1908 in the Nueva Pompeya neighbourhood of Buenos Aires. Club Sportivo Buenos Aires is a defunct Argentine football club from the city of Buenos Aires that played in Primera División during the 1920s. History The club was founded on 1 February 1918, when clubs Buenos Aires Isla Maciel and Sportivo Argentino merged. The Sportivo Argentino had been founded in 1915 by former players of Boca Juniors' youth and senior players separated from the club due to problems with its managers. Club Sportivo Palermo was an Argentine football club that played in the Primera División during the 1920s. After being relegated in the 1930s and having played at lower divisions, the club was finally disbanded in the 1980s. History On May 18, 1908, Club Sportivo Palermo was established, adopting blue as its jersey color. The great number of clubs that were founded during the beginning of the 20th century in Argentina resulted in the creation of many leagues and associations, which run in line with Asociación Argentina de Football.
