The 1928 Arkansas Razorbacks football team represented the University of Arkansas in the Southwest Conference (SWC) during the 1928 college football season. In their seventh and final year under head coach Francis Schmidt, the Razorbacks compiled a 7–2 record (2–1 against SWC opponents), finished in second place in the SWC, shut out five of their nine opponents, and outscored all opponents by a combined total of 251 to 63. The Southwest Conference (SWC) was an NCAA Division I college athletic conference in the United States that existed from 1914 to 1996. Composed primarily of schools from Texas, at various times the conference included schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas. For most of its history, the core members of the conference were Texas-based schools plus one in Arkansas: Baylor University, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, the University of Arkansas and the University of Texas at Austin. Independence Stadium is a stadium owned by the city of Shreveport, Louisiana and is the home of the Independence Bowl.
