Sydney Roosters
The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League premiership, New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. First founded as the Eastern Suburbs District Rugby League Football Club (ESDRLFC), it is the only club to have played in each and every season at the elite level, and since the 1970s has often been dubbed the glamour club of the league. The Sydney Roosters have won 15 premierships, equal to the record of the St George Dragons. Only the South Sydney Rabbitohs have won more premierships. New South Wales Rugby League
The New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) is the governing body of rugby league in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory and is a member of the Australian Rugby League Commission. It was formed in Sydney on 8 August 1907 and was known as the New South Wales Rugby Football League (NSWRFL) until 1984. From 1908 to 1994, the NSWRL ran Sydney's, then New South Wales', and eventually Australia's top-level rugby league club competition from their headquarters (or "Bunker" as it was nicknamed during the Super League war) on Phillip Street, Sydney. Hugh Byrne (rugby League)
Hugh "Jazzer" Byrne (1904–1983) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s. Born on 28 April 1904 at Woollahra, New South Wales, Byrne became a large, striding winger. Nelson Hardy
Nelson 'Bill' Hardy (1905–1993) was an Australian rugby league footballer who played in the 1920s and 1930s. Hardy was playing first grade in the NSWRFL premiership for his side, the Eastern Suburbs club, at just 18 years of age. An accomplished or Hardy played 87 matches for Easts in the years 1925–30. In 1928, Hardy was a member of the Eastern Suburbs side that was defeated by South Sydney in that year's premiership decider. On 22 December 1928 Hardy took place in rugby league first night match, an exhibition match between that year's finalists Easts and Souths. Hardy played in three tests for the Australia national rugby league team in the 1928 season against a touring Great Britain side and was a representative of New South Wales on 15 occasions throughout his career. Norm Pope
Norman Daniel Pope (1908–1985) was a professional rugby league footballer in the Australian competition, the New South Wales Rugby League. Career Pope played in the halves at the Eastern Suburbs club for five seasons in the years 1927–31.In the 1931 season Pope captained the side that lost to South Sydney in the 1931 Grand Final. From 1932, he moved to the Maitland United club as captain-coach. Then he took on the captain-coach role at Tumbarumba for three seasons (1933-1936) before returning to Sydney. Jack Coote
John Joseph Coote (1907-1986) was a rugby league footballer who played in the Australian competition, the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL). A junior of the Eastern Suburbs club, Coote was the father of Australian Rugby League Hall of Famer Ron Coote. Playing career A forward, Coote played in some of the great Easts' sides of the mid-thirties, highlighted by an appearance in the 1936 premiership decider. Coote also won two further premierships with Eastern Suburbs in 1935 and 1937. Coote played five first grade seasons with Eastern Suburbs: 1929, 1930, 1935, 1936 and 1937. During the early 1930s, Coote was captain-coach of Condobolin, New South Wales and won premiership shield with them in 1931.
