1926–27 FC Basel Season
The FC Basel 1926–27 season was their thirty fourth season since the club's foundation on 15 November 1893. The club's new chairman was Franz Rinderer. It was Rinderer's third period as chairman. He took over the presidency from Carl Burkhardt at the AGM. FC Basel played their home games in the Landhof in the district Wettstein in Kleinbasel. Overview Karl Bielser was team captain for the second season in a row and as captain he led the team trainings and was responsible for the line-ups. Basel played a total of 32 matches in their 1926–27 season. 16 of these were in the domestic league, one was in the Swiss Cup and 15 were friendly matches. FC Basel
Fussball Club Basel 1893, widely known as FC Basel, FCB, or just Basel, is a Swiss football club based in Basel, in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Formed in 1893, the club has been Swiss national champions 20 times, Swiss Cup winners 13 times, and Swiss League Cup winners once. Hermann Enderlin
Hermann Enderlin (* 24 September 1906; † 18 May 1973) was a Swiss-German footballer who played for FC Basel. He played mainly in the position of defender, but also as midfielder. He was known as Enderlin (II) because his brother Alfred Enderlin (I) played for Basel during the same period, but as a forward. Club career Between the years 1926 and 1935 Enderlin (II) played a total of 182 games for Basel scoring just one goal. 109 of these games were in the Swiss Serie A, twenty in the Swiss Cup and 53 were friendly games. He scored his only goal during the test game in Norway, in Porsgrunn, against Urædd FK on 9 June 1930. Armando Ardizzoia
Armando Ardizzoia (1907 - 20 October 1968) was a Swiss footballer who played for FC Basel. He played mainly in the position of defender. Between the years 1925 and 1933 Ardizzoia played a total of 87 games for Basel scoring a total of 2 goals. 60 of these games were in the Swiss Serie A, six in the Swiss Cup and 21 were friendly games. He scored one single goal in the domestic league. This was on 20 March 1927 as Basel beat FC Bern 6–2. The other goal was scored during the test game against Biel-Bienne on 5 May 1929. Basel came from being 0–4 behind at half time and Ardizoia scored the equaliser in the 70th minute for a 4–4 result. Ernst Zorzotti
Ernst Zorzotti was a Swiss footballer who played 13 seasons for FC Basel and one season for FC Bern. He played mainly in the position as goalkeeper. He also played as a striker, but sometimes also as midfielder. Football career Zorzotti joined FC Basel's first team in 1981. He played his domestic league debut as a goalkeeper on 24 April 1919 in the away fixture against Étoile-Sporting La Chaux-de-Fonds. Two weeks later on 4 May he played his first game to nil. This was the away game against Aarau which Basel won 3–0. In the next season he played his first eight domestic league games as goalkeeper. Then in the game on 29 February 1920 against Nordstern Basel Zorzotti played his first domestic league game as striker and team mate Arthur Fahr took over the position between the posts. Arthur Fahr
Arthur 'Pius' Fahr (1898 – 9 May 1968) was a Swiss footballer who played for FC Basel. 'Pius' Fahr started his playing career as goalkeeper and in later years he played mainly in the position as forward. Between the years 1914 and 1927 he played a total of 208 games for Basel scoring a total of 18 goals. 112 of these games were in the Swiss Serie A and 96 were friendly games. Ernst Christ was a Swiss footballer who played for FC Basel and Solothurn as goalkeeper. Christ joined the Basel first team in 1926, but during his first season he only played in one friendly match. He played his domestic league debut for the club in the home match at the Landhof on 30 October 1927 as Basel lost 0–5 against Young Boys. FC Aarau
FC Aarau is a Swiss football club based in Aarau. They play in the Swiss Challenge League, the second tier of Swiss football after being relegated from Swiss Super League. History FC Aarau was formed on 26 May 1902 by workers from a local brewery. The early days of the club were a success and they won the Swiss championship in 1911–12 and then again in 1913–14. The club spent 25 years, from 1907 to 1933, in the top league but were relegated to the lower league and were unable to return to the top flight for a number of decades.
