1926–27 Divisione Nazionale
The 1926–27 Divisione Nazionale season was won by Torino on the field, however the title was revoked during the following season due to alleged match fixing in a derby match against Juventus. This was the first Italian championship organized on a national basis. The Viareggio Charter In 1926 the ''”Viareggio Charter”'' submitted the Italian football's organization to the fascist regime. The ''Northern League'' was disbanded and it was substituted by the '' Higher Divisions Directory'', an authority appointed by the fascists. Three clubs from Southern Italy were added to the original sixteen-clubs championship to make it a national league. The 20th club had been chosen by a special qualification between the relegated clubs of the Northern League which was won by US Alessandria. Divisione Nazionale ''(National Division)'' was the name of the first level of the Italian Football Championship from 1926 to 1929. History The competition was the evolution of former Prima Divisione ''(First Division)'' which had two main problems: it was divided between the northern and the southern part of the country, and was formally faithful to the amatorial directories of FIFA. The fascist regime couldn't accept a championship based on local groups, so in 1926 it took the direct control of FIGC with fascist Leandro Arpinati as president, who merged two Roman clubs and newborn Napoli into the Milan-based Northern League, which consequently changed its name into Direttorio Divisioni Superiori ''(Directory of Higher Divisions)'', and it formed a Prima Divisione Sud championship ''(Southern First Division)'' which would promote a southern club into the renamed Divisione Nazionale every year. Brescia Calcio, commonly referred to as Brescia (), is an Italian football club based in Brescia, Lombardy, that currently plays in . The club holds the record for total number of seasons (64) and consecutive seasons (18, from 1947–48 to 1964–65) in Serie B, which they have won four times. Antonio Vojak
Antonio Vojak (, ; 19 November 1904 – 9 May 1975) was an Italian footballer who played as a striker or midfielder. His playing career was played out during the 1920s and 1930s. He is most noted for his time with Italian sides Juventus and Napoli, for the latter of which he scored 102 goals. His younger brother Oliviero Vojak played professionally as well, for Juventus and Napoli. To distinguish them, Antonio was known as Vojak I and Oliviero as Vojak II. Career Vojak was born in Pula, now in Croatia but then part of Austria-Hungary, and later ceded to the Kingdom of Italy in 1918. Vojak's football career started with Lazio during the 1924–25 season, his stay there was very short; playing only 10 games but scoring 7 goals. Gino Rossetti
Gino Rossetti (; 7 November 1904 – 15 May 1992) was an Italian football manager and former footballer who played as a forward. He jointly holds the record for the all-time most goals scored in a single Italian league season at 36 goals with Torino during the 1928–29 season. He competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics with the Italy national football team, where he won a bronze medal, and was top scorer in the 1927-30 edition of the Central European International Cup, where he won a gold medal. Club career Spezia Rossetti began his career as a left-winger, and debuted at the age of fifteen in the 1919–20 championship with Virtus Spezia. Julio Libonatti
Julio Libonatti (5 July 1901 – 9 October 1981) was an Argentine football manager and former footballer who played as a forward for the Argentina and Italy national teams. Born in Rosario, he started his career with Newell's Old Boys in 1917. In 1925, he became the first recorded trans-Atlantic transfer, when he moved to Italian club Torino. With 150 total goals with Torino, he is the second most prolific scorer in the history of the Torinese club after Paolo Pulici (172). He won the Scudetto with Torino in 1926–27 and 1927–28, although the first title was later revoked. Later in his career he also represented Genoa and Libertas Rimini.
