1924 Copa Ibarguren
The 1924 Copa Ibarguren was the 12th edition of this National cup of Argentina. It was played by the champions of both leagues, Primera División and Liga Rosarina de Football crowned during 1924. Boca Juniors (Primera División champion) faced Club Atlético Belgrano (champion of Copa Nicasio Vila organised by Liga Rosarina) at Sportivo Barracas Stadium. Although they had won their league titles in 1924, the final was played two years after, on 13 May 1926. Belgrano had won the Copa Vila (the top football competition in Rosario). Estadio Sportivo Barracas
Estadio Sportivo Barracas was a football stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina, property of Club Sportivo Barracas. The stadium was one of the most important venues in Argentina, used for football and rugby union matches. It held 37,000 spectators. History Sportivo Barracas promoted to the top division of Argentine football, Primera División, in 1916. Three years later the club started to build a stadium, on a land located on Iriarte, Luzuriaga, Río Cuarto and Perdriel streets of Barracas, Buenos Aires. The field was delimited by poles joined with chains. Between the grandstands and the field, a one-metre wall was built. The stadium was first opened to public on May 25, 1920, when Boca Juniors beat Uruguayan Nacional by 2–1 in the 1919 Tie Cup final (that was played one year later). Club Atlético Tiro Federal Argentino (mostly known just as Tiro Federal or Tiro Federal de Rosario) is an Argentine football club from the city of Rosario, in Santa Fe Province. The team currently fun plays in Torneo Argentino A, the third division of the Argentine football league system. History Founded on March 29, 1905, Tiro Federal was member of Liga Rosarina de Football, winning the "Copa Nicasio Vila" organised by the body in 1920, 1925 and 1926. As LRF member, Tiro Federal also took part of tournaments organised by the Argentine Football Association such as Copa de Honor Municipalidad de Buenos Aires, playing the final in 1915 although they lost to Racing Club. Mario Fortunato
Mario Francisco Fortunato (1904 – 10 January 1970) was an Argentine football player and manager. Fortunato won three championships as a player with Boca Juniors and went on to lead the club to four Primera División and twp domestic cups as manager. Playing career Club Fortunato began playing for Boca Juniors in 1925, he made his debut on 1 September in a 2–0 win against Palermo. He played for the club until 1926, winning three titles in those years: Copa de Competencia Jockey Club (1925), Primera División (1926) and Copa Estímulo (also in 1926). In 1927 he joined Huracán where he played until 1929. He returned to Boca and played 3 more games for the club in September and October 1929. Fortunato retired early due to a knee injury, but continued to play in the Argentine amateur league with Sportivo Barracas in the 1932 season. Ángel Segundo Médici (20 December 1897 – 9 August 1971) was an Argentine association football defender who represented the Argentina national football team on 34 occasions between 1922 and 1928. Playing career Médici started his career playing for San Telmo and then moved to Club Atlético Atlanta. In 1922 he joined Boca Juniors and made his first appearance for the Argentina national team. During his time with the club, Boca Juniors won four league titles and a number of minor cup competitions. Médici appeared in five Copa América squads for Argentina between 1922 and 1926. Ramón Muttis
Ramón Alfredo Muttis (12 March 1899 – 12 January 1955) was an Argentine football defender who spent most of his career with Boca Juniors. He also played for the Argentina national team winning the 1925 South American Championship. Muttis (sometimes recorded as Mutis) started his career with Argentine club Wanderers, in 1920 he joined Club Atlético Atlanta where he was part of the team that won the Copa de Honor in 1920. Muttis joined Boca Juniors in 1923, the same year that he made his international debut. He won a total of 9 championships with the club. Muttis made a total of 237 appearances for Boca Juniors, spanning ten seasons earning the nickname "Ramón el Fuerte (Ramón the Strong)". Roberto Eugenio Cerro, named "Cherro" (23 February 1907 – 11 October 1965) was an Argentine football striker. He was born in Barracas in the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
