The Norwegian monarch is the head of state of Norway, which is a constitutional and hereditary monarchy with a parliamentary system. The Norwegian monarchy can trace its line back to the reign of Harald Fairhair and the previous petty kingdoms which were united to form Norway; it has been in unions with both Sweden and Denmark for long periods. The present monarch is King Harald V, who has reigned since 17 January 1991, succeeding his father, Olav V. The heir apparent is his only son, Crown Prince Haakon. The crown prince undertakes various public ceremonial functions, as does the king's wife, Queen Sonja. The crown prince also acts as regent in the king's absence. Sigbjørn Hølmebakk
Sigbjørn Hølmebakk (2 February 1922 – 25 November 1981) was a Norwegian author. Biography Hølmebakk was born at Feda (now Kvinesdal) in Vest-Agder, Norway. His parents were Søren Adolf Svindland (1881–1966) and Inger Marie Abrahamsen Møgedal (1888–1949). His brother was the publisher and author Gordon Hølmebakk. After attending trading school, Hølmebakk worked for a few years in Oslo. In 1943 he returned to Feda to take over the small farm. Hølmebakk's début in literature came in 1950 with the novel "Don't Talk About the Fall" (''Ikke snakk om høsten''). As an author he was a realist, who wrote of existential questions with force and skillfully explored social backgrounds. He was a much beloved author before he died at the relatively young age of 59. Vilhelm Aubert
Johan Vilhelm Aubert (7 June 1922 – 19 July 1988) was an influential Norwegian sociologist. He was a professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo from 1963 to 1971 and at the Department of Sociology from 1971 to 1988. He co-founded the Norwegian Institute for Social Research already in 1950, and has been labelled the " father of Norwegian sociology". In his early life he was a member of the anti-Nazi resistance group XU, and while later involved on the radical wing of the Labour Party, he edited the newspaper ''Orientering''. Early career Vilhelm Aubert was born in Kristiania in 1922. He was the older brother of mathematician Karl Egil Aubert, born 1924. Vilhelm Aubert enrolled at the University of Oslo in 1940, the same year as Norway was invaded by Germany as a part of the Second World War. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Edith Roger
Edith Roger (born 29 May 1922) is a Norwegian dancer, choreographer and stage director. She was born in Vestby. She made her debut as dancer at Rogaland Teater in 1945. Her debut as stage director was ''Sangen om utysket'' at Nationaltheatret in 1967. She was decorated Knight of the Order of St. Olav in 1985, and was awarded the Arts Council Norway Honorary Award in 2002. In 2010 she received the Hedda Honorary Award. Gerda Boyesen
Gerda Boyesen (May 18, 1922December 29, 2005) was the founder of Biodynamic Psychology, a branch of Body Psychotherapy. Life Gerda Boyesen was born in 1922 in Bergen. Her first marriage was with Carl Christian Boyesen. In 1947 she read a book by Wilhelm Reich which made an impression on her. Shortly thereafter she began therapy with Ola Raknes, a vegetotherapist who had been trained by Reich. Later she studied psychology in Oslo and received training as physiotherapist which led to work with Aadel Bülow-Hansen. Through her own therapy Boyesen got to know the connection between repressed emotions and muscle tensions. In her book ''Über den Körper die Seele heilen'' she established and partly described in a very personal manner how she developed her own therapeutic method linking the beginnings of Wilhelm Reich, Carl Gustav Jung and Sigmund Freud, through her own studies, her own therapeutic experience as well as her own practice. Frank Olsen (resistance Member)
Frank Olsen (30 April 1922 – 17 March 1945) was a Norwegian resistance member who was executed during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. He was born in Vestby, and lived in Oslo. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, he became involved in Milorg, and carried out a series of sabotage missions. On 13 February 1945, Olsen was going to plan a sabotage action to take place on the same evening, together with Adolf Bogstad and Storm Weinholdt, in the latter's home at Kampen. Before either of these arrived, two Gestapo officers, one German and one Norwegian, arrived in the Weinholdt family's home to check on Storm Weinholdt's brother Kjell. As Kjell was not home either, the Gestapo officers waited in the living room. Bogstad and Storm Weinholdt soon arrived, and while the Gestapo officers became suspicious of the rendez-vous, the men stated that they were planning an outdoors trip. Viking Olver Eriksen
Viking Olver Eriksen (14 April 1922 – 6 March 2014) was a Norwegian nuclear physicist. He was born in Stavanger, and graduated as cand.real. in 1951. In 1952 he was hired at the Institute for Nuclear Energy at Kjeller—the institution is now named the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology—as head of the physics department. Odd Steinar Holøs (8 April 1922 – 31 August 2001) was a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. He was born in Rakkestad. From 1956 to 1957 he was the chairman of the Youth of the Christian People's Party, the youth wing of the Christian Democratic Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Østfold in 1981, and was re-elected on one occasion.
