1921 Tulsa Orange And Black Football Team
The 1921 Tulsa Orange and Black football team represented the University of Tulsa during the 1921 college football season. In their third year under head coach Francis Schmidt, the Orange and Black compiled a 6–3 record and outscored their opponents by a total of 257 to 95. The team won its first two games by scores of 92–0 over and 75–13 over the Chilocco Indian Agricultural School. Schmidt was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Panther Park
Panther Park was the name of two ballparks located in Fort Worth, Texas. They were the home fields of the Fort Worth Panthers from 1911 to 1925 and from 1926 onward, respectively. The first park was initially called Morris Park, after club owner J. Walter Morris. The facility replaced Haines Park which existed from 1902 through 1910. By November 1914, after four seasons, Morris sold his interest in the club, and the new owner renamed it Panther Park. Morris/Panther Park (I) seated only 4,000 fans. Francis Albert Schmidt (December 3, 1885 – September 19, 1944) was an American football player and coach of football, basketball, and baseball. He served as the head football coach at the University of Tulsa (1919–1921), the University of Arkansas (1922–1928), Texas Christian University (1929–1933), Ohio State University (1934–1940), and the University of Idaho (1941–1942), compiling a career record of . Schmidt's teams were known for trick plays involving multiple laterals and non-standard tackle-eligible, and even guard-eligible, formations.
