The 1920 Oregon Webfoots football team represented the University of Oregon in the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) during the 1920 college football season. In their third season under head coach Charles A. Huntington, the Webfoots compiled a 3–2–1 record (1–1–1 in PCC, third), shut out three of six opponents, and were outscored by their opponents 38 to 37. The team played its home games on campus at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. The Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) was a college athletic conference in the United States which existed from 1915 to 1959. Though the Pac-12 Conference claims the PCC's history as part of its own, with eight of the ten PCC members (including all four original PCC charter members) now in the Pac-12, the older league had a completely different charter and was disbanded in 1959 due to a major crisis and scandal. Oregon–Washington Football Rivalry
The Oregon–Washington football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies of the Pac-12 Conference. The respective campuses in Eugene and Seattle are apart, via Interstate 5. It is one of the most played rivalries in NCAA Division I FBS history, and has been played regularly Series history Early years The series opened in 1900, with Oregon dominating Washington 43-0 in Eugene. The rivalry became heated from Oregon's perspective in 1948, when Oregon and California both went undefeated in the Pacific Coast Conference. California was undefeated overall, and Oregon's only loss was at undefeated Michigan, that year's national champions, and the Ducks had seven victories in the PCC to Cal's six. The Oregon-Oregon State Football Game (Civil War) is an American college football rivalry game played annually in the state of Oregon between the Ducks of the University of Oregon in Eugene and the Beavers of Oregon State University in Corvallis. First played in 1894, it is the fifth- most played college football rivalry game in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Bell Field, originally known as College Field (1893–1909), was an outdoor athletic stadium in the northwest United States, on the campus of Oregon State College (now University) in Corvallis, Oregon. It was the home venue of Oregon State Beavers football prior to the opening of Parker Stadium (now Reser Stadium) in November 1953. Track and field continued at Bell Field until its demolition in 1974. History Opened in 1910, Bell Field had a seating capacity of 21,000 at its peak and was named after J.R.N. "Doc" Bell, an early supporter of the college and its athletic teams. 1920 Oregon Agricultural Aggies Football Team
The 1920 Oregon Agricultural Aggies football team represented Oregon Agricultural College (now known as Oregon State University) in the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) during the 1920 college football season. The team played its home games at Bell Field in Corvallis, Oregon. Henry Rearden was the team captain. Gap Powell was the fullback and the offensive star. In April 1920, R. B. Rutherford was hired as the team's head coach. He had played football at Nebraska and had been the head football coach at Washington University from 1917 to 1919. In their first season under coach Rutherford, the Beavers compiled a 2–2–2 record (1–2–1 against PCC opponents), finished in fifth place in the PCC, and were outscored by their opponents, 52 to 20.
