Tom Keady
John Thomas Keady (August 18, 1882 – February 12, 1964) was an American football, basketball, and baseball player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Lehigh University from 1912 to 1920, at the University of Vermont from 1921 to 1924, at Marine Corps Base Quantico from 1925 to 1930, and at Western Reserve University from 1931 to 1933, compiling a career college football record of 87–48–6. Keady was also the head basketball coach and the head baseball coach at Dartmouth College, Lehigh, Vermont, and Quantico. Early life and playing career Keady was born on August 18, 1882 in Wakefield, Massachusetts. He attended Dartmouth College, where he lettered in football and baseball. Taylor Stadium (Lehigh)
Taylor Stadium was a stadium in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It hosted the Lehigh University Engineers football team until they moved to Goodman Stadium in 1988. History Prior to becoming a stadium the area was a practice field with no bleachers. Charles L. Taylor, an alumni from the class of 1876, proposed turning the field into a purpose built stadium. Construction was largely financed by alumni donations, with the single largest donation came from Charles M. Schwab and his wife Emma Schwab. The stadium opened in 1914 making it just the third concrete stadium in the United States. The stadium would be used by the Lehigh Engineers football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and track and field teams as their primary venue. 1920 College Football Season
The 1920 college football season had no clear-cut champion, with the ''Official NCAA Division I Football Records Book'' listing California, Georgia, Harvard, Notre Dame, and Princeton as national champions. Only California and Princeton claim national championships for the 1920 season. Andy Smith's Pacific Coast Conference champion California "Wonder Team" was the first national champion from the Pacific Coast. Princeton and Harvard were undefeated and with one tie to each other. Notre Dame was led by its first Walter Camp All-American, George Gipp, who died before the year was over. In the south, fans of either side in Georgia were happy. Georgia and Georgia Tech were both undefeated in Southern play. Georgia Tech lost to Pitt, which was undefeated with two ties. The Rivalry (Lafayette–Lehigh)
The Rivalry is an American college football rivalry game played by the Lafayette Leopards football team of Lafayette College and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks football team of Lehigh University. It is the most-played football rivalry in the nation and is the longest uninterrupted rivalry game. As of 2022, "The Rivalry" has been played 158 times since 1884 with only one interruption in 1896. No game was played in calendar 2020 due to COVID-19 issues, but the teams played in April 2021 after the Patriot League, home to both schools, moved its originally planned fall 2020 season to spring 2021.
